Hi, I wonder if anyone is using the EA Close Buy_Sell xxMA Any TF.

I would appreciate it a lot if someone could help me on how to use it. I've tried the 30 and 60 MA on my H4 charts. EVerything looks fine, smiley face etc. (My other EA is working fine on the same Empty4, so I'm sure that the problem is not the system settings). But prices blew through the MAs with nothing happens.

Anyone has made this EA works properly ? I have not changed any setting of the EA.

I have looked at the code - I suppose I should have done so before. It is not designed for the purposes we need here and will fail most of the time. It compares the market with the MA at the close of the previous candle, not now.

These EA's need a magic number to make them more sensitive to our needs. Also, the order closing loop code needs turning upside down.

I will code some replacements.

I realised there is no need for an extensive rewrite. I have made suitable alterations to the code; it just needs testing out on Monday to make sure I have not introduced any bloops.

I know I am not God or anything (well, I am here but that is different) but I do own this forum and pay the bills, so I am a tad surprised when my posts are totally ignored. It is not as though I post 800 a day.

I know what you meant, but I have learned to tell the emotional difference between trading hard cash and pretending to to treat demo cash in the same way.

That's what I've said 2 or 3 times already, but of course no one listens to me (why should anyone do that?! )

In the last two years I blew up dozens of demo accounts. The only good thing I got from that was to learn how to use several useful scripts and EAs, testing indicators, leaving EAs to run to see what happened, etc

On the real account I already invested thousands. Still feel it was a good investment and I believe I will harvest some fruits out of it.

This month I was on holidays and made some mistakes, as I couldn't keep babysitting the account all of the time (most days didn't even had a proper internet connection, or even no connection at all). Still, this month investment is still intact and with some profit. This week had a +20% increase, which was good enough to cover the losses from the previous week. Right now DD seems controlled (around 7%) and expect to recover this month my losses from July and, if all goes well, by the end of the year I will be breakeven with the beginning of the year. I will try to explain what I've been doing and the progress I did since last time I posted.

Gee........ Obama is going to ask Congress whether or not to use missles on a foreign country. What a novel idea. I thought our forefathers put that in the Consitution over 200 years ago. Dang. So what happens trading wise?? USA Monday holiday so dont expect much action during the USA session. Probably wont be real big gaps Monday so JPY session and Euro sessions should have some action but I expect it to be muted. So we may be sitting on a quiet week again unless some shooting starts or a runup to the NFP on Friday. I may keep playing the gbp/aud to bounce off that xxx.00 line just to keep busy.

Just a reminder that indicators, including candle reading, are basically useless when strong fundamentals come into play. Candle patterns are not going to predict how a war or bombing will affect the market neither will any other indicator. We have had several days of flat price movement which makes indicators flatten out and being non-directional. The one indie however that may be helpful is the xxx.00 lines. Price has a tendency to bounce or blow through those lines. If ever something comes up and starts blowing away the market you can rely on those lines for entrances and exits. They are universal and banks and big traders will watch those breaks or bounces off of the those line. This advice is good for anytime, now or in the future.
