Thanks for the extended explanation Mike. Now I think I understand what you were getting at it sounds like a great plan. To clarify I've done a couple of diagrams to explain how I understand your proposal.

The example below is for a long/buy trade.

Standard MM buy trade as defined in your document (A,B,C,D)
MM Buy example.jpg
Trade A1 enters and makes Pips till “THE TREND” ends
Trade B1 enters, makes pips, makes pips, goes sour during a retracement and turns winning at the resumption of the trend till “THE TREND” ends.
Trade C1 enters makes pips, makes pips, goes sour, since the trend does not resume and ends with a loss.
Trade D1 goes sour and gets stopped out
We are only interested in Trade type B1 and C1.
Below is your proposed "Shadow Trade" Exit and Re-entry trades.
MM plus Shadow Buy example.jpg
We are interested in the grey zone.

Is this correct?

Next, I thought, rather than Re-enter at the end of the retrace, we could place a Stop Order and avoid the final Loss when we get a Trade C1. As below.
MM plus ShadowStop Buy example.jpg
Cheers,
TT

TonkaTuff, thanks. Great you made it clear, though – a picture says more than 1000 words - I do not understand how you get at diagram #2, since we would only reenter when retracement has finished as you draw on diagram #3. Since "THE TREND" is defined by Marilyn and the trade is only stopped out, when "THE TREND" is finished – that is how I understand Marilyn - I’ld suggest to draw the SL-Sell of trade C1 (the yellow line) on the same vertical line as the sell of the blue line. So your (slightly modified) diagrams #1 and #3 express the idea. Yes, that would be it. I attach a PP, we can continue to modify ;)
Thinking about this idea, I get the impression, its old wine in new bottles: any EA defining a trend in a higher TF and trading on a smaller timeframe most likely tries to do exactly what I try to describe.
Marilyn catches "THE TREND" very well, thanks phil!
Thanks again Mike

My mistake Mike,

My Diagram 2 is incorrect. Diagram 3 lines up with your last explanation and sounds good.

Yes green, too - you have many, many open trades :o I have 2.
Is it possible that it's due to my DeltaPipsMA25=10, while you said, you have DeltaPipsMA25=0. I also have MaxUnprotctedTrades=2 (and I do not really understand what that means) and MaxTrades=100.
Thanks for this ea, Mike

Hi Mike

Is it possible that it's due to my DeltaPipsMA25=10 -> No, 10 is more aggressive than 0. You would have more trades

MaxUnprotctedTrades=2 -> Only 2 trades for same pairs could be open if no SL set yet.

Do you managed 8 charts for the 8 pairs I recommend ?

phil, yes AUDJPY, AUDUSD, CHFJPY, EURJPY, EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDCHF, XAUUSD on D1 each with the EA (smiling) attached to its chart.
I will lower Margin since I am at 1500% with these 2 trades.

Hi All

I saw on my FT backtest that sometime, MoveSLOnStochOBOS routine didn't see an exit of OBOS zone :

we need to look at Stoch Slow N-2 and N-3 instead of only N-0

so please find the MQL modification in V036B.

Code: Select all

void MoveSLOnStoch(string strSymbol, int nMagic)
{
	double NewSL=0;

	for (int i=OrdersTotal()-1 ; i>=0 ; i--)
	{
		if (!OrderSelect(i,SELECT_BY_POS)) continue;
		if (OrderType() == OP_SELL)
		{   if (OrderMagicNumber() == nMagic)
			if (OrderSymbol() == strSymbol)
