NO. The USA is in a good place for recovery better than any other nation on earth.fok wrote:Why do you expect USD is going up? The USD downtrend can remain a long time, don't you think?nanningbob wrote:Except for the USD pairs and Cad/JPY all currencies are in their range areas as defined by 10.6. Seems like everyone is waiting on Washington to decide. When Washington decides I expect there to be some fireworks. USD will go up and everyone else will break out into some direction. Until then range trading is where you will find most of your trades and using the 1H STO may give you better trades during this time.
1. We have cut our budget deficit spending in half from 4 years ago and need to keep that going.
2. The total debt including everything in the USA has been reduced by almost 15% in the last 5 years. Just because govt. debt has gone up the overall debt picture has improved greatly. The weak companies and businesses have been weeded out and the remaining companies are strong and have money to invest and grow. What they need is a long term budget out of Washington so they can see some stability in the economy.
3. Manufacturing is slowly returning back to the USA. China is not cheap anymore and other world economies pick up it is actually cheaper and have better quality if made in the USA. The cost of shipping world wide has gone up tremendously so that negates having your manufacturing base overseas. You will see more and more cooperation with Mexico and Canada.
4. Americans are sick and tired of overseas military engagements and wont tolerate any more unless absolutely necessary. Military costs will come down.
5. The USA is going to become the world's biggest energy producer, petro dollars will start coming back home after decades of going overseas. The right kind of tax on this surplus can be used to bring down the debt. Most Americans at this time dont realize we export more petroleum finished products than we import. However, we need investments in infrastructure, like ports, bridges, highways, and pipelines, etc.
6. New energy sources will be coming online. We have invented floating windmills that can be put out to sea over 25 miles away. They can produce enough energy to replace most of our nuclear and coal burning plants. Is just one example. We have invented hydrogen producing bacteria and plant life to switch to these energy sources in the next two decades. Plus there are other scientific breakthroughs. With all of these we are going to become an energy exporter not an importer anymore.
7. 100% debt to gbp ratio, is the third time in our countries history. It is not a doomsday scenario. After the Civil War we had major economic expansion and paid it back down. The other time was WW2 and we had the post war economic boom. We can have another one, it is out there, just need the leadership to push us out there.
Long term I am bullish USA economy. Short term we have got to get out of the quagmire we have in Washington. We need a different rallying cry other than STOP OBAMA. The present Republican leadership sucks and has no future vision. The Dems need someone who will trust the American people more than govt. The USD can be strong again while other countries can fight over the currency wars. The elements are there but the political will??? Well that is another story.

I think that is exactly what we are achieving now. But some of the work comes from our own experience with charts and that cannot be taught.zTB wrote:Bob,

Re: 10.4 A Complete System
Hi,
My first post here so please excuse the fact it's a question and not a contribution.....
I've been working with this system for a little while now and so far, it's great! I feel I've grasped the basics of it from reading through the posts but I just want some clarity / thoughts on the use of the MA's on the H1 charts. When the price is ranging or between the MA's on the H4, I often move to the H1. My question is, do you think the period of the MA lines on the H1 charts should be changed so that the lines are in the same place as on the H4 charts? ie: instead of having a 240 and a 60, we'd have a 960 and a 240 but they'd be in the same place relative to price as those on the H4. That way, when price is above, below or ranging, it would be the same on both timeframes.
Would be great to hear your thoughts on this.

All you have to do is add the 960, that would be the only change. I like using the 60 because it gives me a good marker to re-enter the trend when using the 1H chart. On the chart below I am showing how you can use the 60 and STO7 to mark good entrance points on the 1H chart. When they all agree:Bruster400 wrote:Hi,

1. Daily Pivot
2. 1H 60 MA
3. STO 7
You have the makings of a good trade. In the last 5 days there were 5 positive trades. Green lines are separating each day of the week.

Hi Bob
When waiting for STO signals (as per the above example), do you only use the STO signals that come from 100 down then 80? Or anything from 80 down? Hope I've explained myself clearly.
Cheers

?????? HUH ????? Then why do I give another signal at 60? And why would I write that the majority of the move is often below the 20 line???

Thanks for your reply - it's a great help. The chart you've shown makes it really clear. I think i'll drop the 960 on for reference to the longer term position but I can see now why the 60 works too.
