Hi fxozgirl, sorry for bothering you with this... just to make it clear and to compare it with mine, could we just say you´re using Live pretty much the same settings as with Demo1a? Also using ATR for SL as well?

Demo 1a: BASA using ATR for SL
(started 6/08/13), updated at (almost) every version - currently v2a
Main Entry / Re-entry: Both On
MA Stack: On
Trade Stacking: Off
Trade Management: TP 300, JS 50, BE+2 30 ATR for SL: 20, 240, 2
Half Close Enabled: True
StopOpenPositionsFridayEvening: True
All other settings default

MA Stack turned on - THIS IS KING!
No Stacking trades (although I may change that now the trailing SL/BE function is working correctly)
Half Close Enabled on - This is the 2nd most important setting IMO and has made a big difference in locking in profits
Also, I am still using v1y on my Live account, until I am confident that the most recent version of BASA is stable.

That's it...2 more profitable trades closed overnight, and a nzdusd buy trade currently in drawdown

All the demo's (currently trading with v2c) are ongoing research & development which I will be continuing to see if we can achieve a higher trading version which is consistently profitable.

I am testing and following along as well. I believe Shelley indicated that she had moved her Jumping Stop to 40.

I think she also mentioned one day that she changed RsiTmaTF to use the 1H TF but not sure if main chart is still 4H as if main chart was 1H then you wouldn't need to change RsiTmaTF but I do get more trades with main chart being on 1H. I'm testing this so we'll see the outcome in a few weeks.

Hi FxOzgirl, I have started testing the newest version OOTB. My noticed that a lot of trades hit the SL and only a few get the full TP. But looking at all the current open trades it all looks very good.

Have you ever considers a BASKET closing set-up? And if so what was the results?

I've been a bit confused by this too. Test 1b seems pretty close to the settings Shelley listed, but 1b is not getting anything close to 10% in 5 weeks!

sorry am i being majorly thick? as im running v2c and i cant find half close anywhere.

im using ma stacking off for main trades, max trades = 5 and many times i get a relatively large open floating profit only for profit not to be taken / trades turning round and hitting the atr stops

CORRECT!...see below (as posted 21/9):

Demo 1a: Started 6/8/13, the account is currently down 1.28% (bottoming out at -2.85%)
This EA's settings are extremely conservative, taking very few trades. I will be adjusting the settings this weekend to enable the HalfLotsClosed function which I think will tip the balance into the positive.
I am also currently trading these settings on my Cowboy Cowboy Go Markets Live Account (the demo is on Global Prime) since 19/8/13, with 12 trades being taken (the first few trades I cherry picked, then let the EA run on its own), 4 trades closed at BE, 2 @ SL and 6 trades closed at varying stages of profit for approx 7% gain on my account. This particular account is in a deep hole (courtesy of the beast), which I have been trying to dig out of for a long, long time and can't afford to trade aggressively with it. I'm hopeful these conservative settings will help me claw this account back into a much healthier position!

Yes I have changed jumping stop to 40 on my live account, also still using 5,3,3 for stoch at this stage, however I have just set up a new demo which replicates my live account settings using 4,2,2 stoch settings for comparison.

Demo 3 is set up with 4H charts but rsitmaTF set to 1 hour...my live account is with rsitmatf 4H.
Please let us know how your 1H TF testing goes?

At the moment the market seem's to be running out of steam after trades make a promising start, retracing, then moving off again. So I've tried to capitalize on this by using the halfcloseenabled. If I can get a sure 30 pips every trade I take, I'm very happy...if trades take off and get full TP (which has happened) then I'm very happy. The full TP is just there for the occasional runner, generally the jumping stop takes out the trade before that.

Also, because of this ebb & flow in the market, BASA is quite often getting back in on the same trades, once price has retraced...that is the ideal scenario I was thinking of when I have the re-entry trades.

No, I haven't used a basket strategy...please feel free to test and share?
