Ok, was playing around with it, some stuff didnt quite make sense

1. Do you open/close on new candle?
2. Timeframe to use is H1?
3. I was playing with the M15, and the results will all return in -ve if i base it off the M1 chart entries, i could be doing this all wrong..

Attached is a picture with the answers to your questions, when it comes to the time frame I dont think the EA should be time frame specific, it should be able to trade regardless of the time frame. I've had the indicator running on different time frames, for short, medium and long term trading.

Jorge, I will make a friendly attempt to save you some pain here. Sorry I was in a bad mood last night. It happens. Often.

What you have here is known as a Custom Indicator in common parlance. Crap Custom Abortion is the more commonly used term here, but you will not understand why yet.

All that Custom Indicators do is take one or more of the standard indis that ship with Empty4 and do something or other with the data returned by the standard indi. The one you offer up here will place an arrow on the chart (and trigger an alert?) when the standard Empty4 CCI indi crosses a certain value in a certain direction. It will offer you nothing you cannot glean from the standard CCI indi once you know how to read it.

Worse, the coder of the Crap Custom Abortion will claim that all you have to do to be profitable is to open a trade when x arrow/signal/thingy appears, and close it when y arrow/signal/thingy appears.

That is before we get into the 'repainting' issue - let's leave that for another time.

So, ask yourself this: if trading really is that simple, why does this forum exist? Why is Steve running this forum instead of making gazillions of dollars out of trading the latest whizz-bang CCA? Why is everybody who ever stumbled across Forex and then fell upon a few indicators not filthy-stinking rich and therefore not bothered about contributing to a forum like this one?

Because they cannot be profitable is why. I know this because I coded 5 ea's a week back when I was building my reputation at FF, that used these damn things. Or at least used the standard indi that ships with Empty4 - makes no difference. Used alone, they are unprofitable.

Oh, and CCA's murder your cpu. Explaining why can wait.

So, don't expect anyone to code an ea based on the CCA you have provided here. It will not happen unless the coder is the sort of idiot I was 7 years ago.

No need to apologize Steve. I've been trading for while now to completely understand your point. If Im being totally honest with you I prefer manual trading, I enjoy it more, but once in a blue moon, or once every couple of years I feel like testing and experimenting, kind of like this EA for example. As I mentioned I cant code at all, that's why I threw the idea out there but its completely understandable what you are saying. I don't use the particular indicator in my personal trading, but I just wanted to monitor, and see its performance without having to take time off my trading. And that's when the EA idea came about, that's why in the first post I said, nothing too complicated, just a very easy mechanism to monitor how it does, in "real time", taking entries, instead of doing the old paper trading which I'm not a big fan of. Anyhow, not to worry at all . On a side note, congrats on the site, really glad to be part of it.
