i get a lot of problems with my Empty4 platforms not responding the revolving circle syndrom, the comp is clean, did a malware sacan all ok, any ideas, cheers

when an indicator generates a continuing error, the error is continuously dumped into a log file.
the log file can grow into several 100 MB if the error is not sorted out. this in turn slows down the computer. on one occasion, my log file grew to over 10 GB !! that's when i dug deeper and discovered what was happening...

here's an extract of the log file that should explain this:

a new log file is written each day with the date for its name -- yyyymmdd.log.

in order to ascertain the error, you can open a file in a text editor and check for blocks of repetitive entries like the sample above.

in win7 these files should be located at:
c:\users\..........\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\[your_Empty4_folder]\experts\logs\[date].log

normally, each day's file size should be in KBs.
if the file hits MBs, it's worth looking at the errors reported and sorting them out.
i delete old files every day to free up disk space.

thank you for sharing your unique implementation of this method using TCO ea. the results you have so far are very promising... can you elaborate any more if possible on how you manage / monitor trades after the EA takes them?

I'm really glad you asked that - it is the age old question isn't it? Take profits or let them run!

Actually, I had the EA set to take profit at 10% increase of account balance, but the computer blue screened yesterday and when I re-opened Empty4, I believed it reverted to last saved profile and closed all trades at 2%

Anyway, the EA does what it does and has opened the trades shown below; I will move Empty4 to my VPS on the weekend so should run continuously there.

Other than that, I suggest using a RISK multiple for your take profit, e.g. with my settings, the EA calculates a position size based on Daily ATR 0.5 and a TP 2 x ATR, so R:R of 4 to 1 - so whatever you use as a NB stop loss, multiple that by 2 or 3 or 4.

Yeah, that is pretty normal, I was in draw down at end of Asian session with these new trades but now turned around, patience grasshopper

And who thought the AUD/USD was such a good BUY early today? NB 10.6 using Stochastic did, that's who!

And it was on the PIVOT as well, hope you got some action there

Well spotted, but the EA doesn't get any info from them, I use the Big Round Numbers (BRN) as a quasi grid and to visually spot Support / Resistance on the Weekly & Daily charts while I am determining the TREND for my personal trading.

The Daily Pivots are just a reference point for me to see where price is in the normal scheme of things, eg. did it open above, open below, did it go to R-1 or S-1

Also, I watch price with the ADR and AWR too, much like Bob does with his Weekly & Monthly Pivots

Yup, 10.6 did. Also cashed two more on EURCAD and AUDCAD, which were the only two signals I got yesterday. I might be closing that AUDUSD any minute now.

thanks for that pg, deleted all the log files on all the platforms, but alpari is still pushing my cpu up high, the other platforms are fine, so i will give alpari a miss and just use the others
