Dear Snowman,
thanks for sharing your experience with the great TCO EA!

Two more questions:
A few days ago you showed us your setting file (nb_10_6_a.set).
Compared this with the last picture showed here there is a difference in the very last line:
Stoch_confirmation: yes OR no? What is the difference in function, and which is good?

I am using the the original template taken from the TCO Trader EA thread.
However, this template is full of currently (with your settings) not used indicators.
Would you be so kind to put your currently used template here for us, as well?

Not quite sure how to do a preset. For example, I'd like to put in certain parameters into the EA for one pair and then change those parameters for another paid, just to see how they perform. I don't want to spend time making changes every time I place the EA on a pair. Can someone explain to me how to do a set file?

When finished making your changes, click the SAVE button, give it a name so you know the settings, you can SAVE many files, there is "preset" folder in the Empty4 files structure under Experts if you want to see in Windows Explorer.

When you go to other chart, open EA, then click LOAD to select the Preset you wish to use, so easy!

Thanks Snowman. One thing I forgot to ask you. I copied your set file onto my charts and noticed that the Stoch settings didn't match the 7,2,2 format. It is 14,3,3. Is that okay?

No, not OK, better change to 7-2-2 and also read the manual, go threw & study each settings to understand what, why & when the EA will trade.

Also, use Stoch_Confirmation = 1 so it take trades when price moves back up / down

Why it works good is because it will enter a trade when YOU won't see the chart for Thursday & Friday; I closed all the trades I previously posted, start over with new Take Profit on Monday



PS - I used to be a Canadian, hence The Snowman name, but I'm all right now!

I want you to also notice an inconsistency that maybe you have already solved, is set to ATR TP and SL but as the graph shows another setting.

That on the screen is always there! Yes, that is the setting that I was using, this week I will try for Take Profit only 1 ATR with stop loss of 0.5 ATR

because it seems to enter many trades, in the right direction, and want to capture what profit is available

also, some big moves last week, will it continue this week or consolidates?

Hi Snowman,
I'm running the preset that you posted and changed the take profit to 3% of basket with 2% loss. I've closed one basked with a profit and the current one is in profit. This is the best EA I have ever seen probably because the settings are based on NB. I'm also running another one using Ma,ichi machd I'll post my results when it closes.

Hi Guys, well glad this Ea found its own thread and I am sure that it has alot of great potential. It performed exceptionally well for me last week and I took some excellent live trades last week. It must also be said that we had excellent momentum last week and we have to take note of consolidation phases. One of the guys last week came up with a very good idea of setting it to ask for manual confirmation before taking a trade. I use this to quickly check that all my criteria is met before taking the trade. So getting back to consolidation phases I will not take a trade if my candles are criss-crossing my moving average and also a moving average flat lining, and porcupine candle sticks etc.. Remember the Ea does not recognize that so you do not want to get into a dead end trade. I did some back tests this weekend and I have noticed that if you set the trend t/frame both the higher and the lower t/frame to 240 for example the ea will take a trade only based on the 4hr t/frame. This becomes important for me especially when it comes to pull backs, I do not want the daily to indicate that we are in buy mode whilst on the the 4hr we are trading below lets say the 60 or 63 moving average. Anyway this is great bug free ea with so many possibilities and easy to adapt into your trading style and I thank Tall Cool One for this. Anyway lets see how we go from here. I am currently forward testing a number of possibilities and hopefully can share it here some time.

apparently, you have changed tco ea parameters after you posted a preset file earlier on.
can you please post the new preset file you are currently using, so that there are no "transmission losses" in its implementation.

from Friday am running the TCO, and the screen settings appear to me that I have not included, such as the stop loss fixed. the same happen to you? I use atr for tp and sl.
