BASA closed three trades today witch didn't hit sl, no idea why. broker is Cowboy Cowboy Cowboy Cowboy IBFX au, tf h4.
Attached the set-file. Any suggestions?

It's quite likely that the trades were closed due to the rule as described by Tom above...

Welcome to the BASA thread...it's probably a good idea to read back over the thread, so you understand the evolution of the EA, but also Steve has put together a comprehensive user guide for BASA that I'm sure you will find beneficial as well. Post 1 has a lot of info too!

It's not really a good idea to throw an EA (any EA not just BASA) on a chart, have a couple of losing trades and say 'it dun't work' (in Steve parlance ) without taking the time to learn how it's 'supposed' to work first.

I'm reading for a week or so right now, but since english is not my first language some things are sometimes hard to understand : :
I don't say it don't work because it worked fine for me last week, but I had some of this closing trades and didn't understand why. So I asked.

The idea behind it is to cut the losers off quickly. Analysis has shown that on most (but not all) occasions, if the trade goes in the wrong direction in the first 2 candles after entry, it's likely to go on and hit ful SL, so the trade is closed.

Mind there has been a few times, where the trade has been closed early by this rule and then would have profited later on...but that's trading, we are just trying to stack the odds in our favour, and this rule does help.

Makes sense. I didn't read about this rule in this thread or maybe didn't notice, otherwise I would not have asked. As I said, I just wanted to know why. Now I know.

I've attached my setfile but there could be other reasons why our results will differ, for example broker feed (Mine is GP ), or pairs traded, for example I do not trade CHF crosses.

thanks man. i am running OOTB, also on GP. will save the setfile for reference and load it up if your demo continues to do well (cant load another demo on my pc as have too many Empty4's running already)

Not really sure how CSS works in BASA, I haven't used it myself...please keep us up to date with how it's trading

In a buy, the first currency in the pair has to be > 0, the second < 0. Vice-versa for a sell.

Now there seems to be a few more people on the thread, we may be able to do some testing with CSS to see how it BASA trades with it...actually I might even can a couple of demo's I have running and set one up myself

I think I will set one up with MA stack off, CSS on & MA stack on, CSS on...I'll report how they go

It is a standard feature of the shell code I use to create all my ea's. There are options within the shell to only trade when the currencies are moving apart but that is a thingy for the coders; for BASA they merely have to be on the correct side of zero.

If memory serves me correctly, and if I am reading the code correctly, CSS only affects stack trades. CSS does not appear to be checked prior to a Main trade or a Re-Entry trade. However, I am a "cut and paster" so I defer to the smarter minds here.
