You forgot the PRICE as well

Price should be in the upper right hand corner. I use the 10.6 market info indi.

Any chance you could package up the full set of indis &etc into one post in the meantime? That way the newbs among us (dat's me) could practice with the correct set, while you write the guide. Where it's spread all over, I'm not sure I've got the right versions of everything.

Page 1 post 1 all in one package. The other indies are also there like the info page and the scripts to enter. When I have the whole package including instructions then I will start a new thread. I hope you guys begin to realize people who post systems, the amount of time and testing it takes to get one working right. These just dont go together it takes months to have a finished product.

Thank you sir! BTW I noticed there are two copies of the indis and template in that zip file -- one set in the Indicators / Templates folders where they belong, and another set in the parent (experts) directory.

10.6 daily pivot gap strategy

Post by jago25 »

Did some backtesting last night and noticed that quite a few pairs sometimes jump exactly on the daily pivot - with the trend.

A new, very simple strategy could be seeing if we've had a jump gap recently, maybe measure the time since the last jump and opening a position at the end of each day with a tight stop loss. The opportunity only comes round every couple of weeks so personally I would need something to remind me.
Question - just to confirm, which is that daily pivot line running over which open/close?

Folks, if you want to get good at this try some live backtesting. Try GBP as a test and notice how the strategy is less reliable. Then compare to other pairs. This has been a good lesson for me in understanding how each pair can have it's own personality - before this I was of the opinion that patterns are patterns.

The problem with sped up live backtesting is that there's no time to 2nd guess yourself and there's nothing to get nervous on. I find I can do really welll even on the 15m timeframe but as soon as I try to take it live it goes wrong. I think where I go wrong is that in the live situation I have time to look for extra indicators to give that conviction, instead of using 10.6 EDSEL as a guide and then using my own gut feeling to pinpoint a more accurate entry.

Also I notice that with pairs other than GBP I improve on my guesses as time goes on. The thing to take away is to practice beforehand.

hi guys, bob i need to clear a few things in my mind, looking through most of the charts this morning uk time, there wasn't one pair showing green or red lights on 4 hour and 1 hour, most had just 4 hour light and a blank 1 hour, so do we just ignore those, i'm still getting confused on what css time frame to use i know you advocate using the daily, but looking at the daily for instance the eurusd is pointing down, the 4 hour pointing up, how would you play this, the 4 hour chart is showing 4 hour red only, plus its right at the bottom of the range, most of the pairs seem to be at the top or bottom of the range, thanks once again for all your patience
