Hi Peter,

You can change the colors in the property window of the dummylights, this should work. You might have to wait for ticks to trigger the refresh or right click on the chart and click refresh.

Let me know if you still have issues.

I was doing good early this week, until on Thursday the EURO interest rate news hit me hard.
Another lesson learned: Watch the news, dummy!
Can anyone recommend a reliable, working NEWS indicator (preferably with alerts)?
TIA

I liked the currency-strength charts in that app, but it looks like you have to have a futures feed to use it? E.g. ADSEP13 for AUD, BPSEP13 for GBP, etc.

I'm the creator of FXNA; you don't have to use a futures feed, you can any Empty4 terminal to communicate with the app or just use it to view the calendar and the news widget for alarms.

There's also a news strength widget that analyses all the weekly events and shows which currencies are likely to move, but use this at your own discretion.

Right, but for the currency-strength chart (and I assume the green-to-red tabular version) your site says "If you are using an Empty4 that has futures feeds, then you only need to see a few lines to know straight away which Forex currency pairs are moving."

So the other parts of the app work without those futures feeds, but the currency-strength features require the futures feed -- right?

I need to update the website as you don't need a futures feed, thanks for pointing this out.

For the current version (v3.2), the strength widgets (pie-chart / tabular) show split currencies (eg EUR, USD, CAD) and the line graph shows only symbol momentum (eg EURUSD, USDCAD, etc).

I need to add the code from the strength widgets to the line graph for the next release, so it also shows split currencies; a picture paints a thousand words:

Image

Left chart = current version which becomes messy with too many lines. Note, I use 30 charts in my Empty4 terminal to stream data to the app.

Right chart = new version (in development), it only shows 8 lines and replicates futures feeds. It splits all the currencies into their base/quote symbols and it's much easier to see what's going on. Friday saw dollar bid up (red line) and NZD and JPY were offered (grey & yellow lines), so the best pair to trade was USDJPY buy.

I've also added a live tick momentum for split currencies, that updates every second from the bid price of all charts open in your Empty4...coming soon.

Hi All,
since November of 2012 I am a mainly silent follower of Bob's thoughts here.
And English is my second foreign language, so forgive me if so for being sometimes strange...
The reason for writing is that the last week was for me the first one during my forex 'carrier' that I could hold my account positive using NB10.6 rules.
See bellow my trades.

Of course it is nothing (playing around with a 5K demo account), but for me it is probably the breakthrough.

On Thursday there was a big EUR fall - Bob already commented it. Actually I was sitting with two open positions (eurusd and eurcad) in the right direction in the very candles, and hit TP very quickly. But, if I would have used an EA with good capability for managing multiple entrances, I could have rest for the whole month...:)

Could someone recommend me an EA handling well with multiple entrances?
Mainly I am off from the monitor for 3-4 hours. For position management I am using TCO EA (recently here showed by Snowman), when I settle my pending orders, I also run this EA with settings 'MaxOrdersPerPair=0', in this way my trades will be moved to BE, if possible. Next week I will try different values than 0 here to see how this EA manage multiple entrances.

Bob commented this news story for Thursday. It began at 12:00, the second order movement (the timing of the movements in jpy pairs) were as follows:
nzdjpy fall of ~140 pips between 15:00-19:00,
gbpjpy fall of ~160 pips between 14:00-19:00,
eurjpy fall of ~150 pips between 12:00-18:00,
cadjpy fall of ~160 pips between 14:00-18:00,
audjpy fall of ~140 pips between 15:00-18:00.

So, if you know what and in which direction will move in the second order movements, you have plenty of time (2-3 hours) to set your pending orders...

And a last thought concerning this news story. On Friday I was thinking as follows: if the eur fall was not completely enough strong for Thursday, 24 hours later at NY open it is probable to get a smaller but a similar movement. I placed my order, a got it, see bellow.

Thanks for reading and commenting, many pips: Tom
