Actually, as I write this it is not the 15th here in the UK. Thing is, I am busy for a lot of tomorrow, so I thought I would start the party now - it is always one minute past midnight somewhere on the globe.
So, happy birthday guys. We are just a few short of a 10,000 membership. Not bad for a forum that emerged blinking into the sunlight (ok, gloom here in mid Nov UK where we have 5 minutes of daylight on a good day
) just two years ago.I honestly thought back then that about 5 members would sign up, we would exchange a few desultory posts then slink back into the darkness. This forum's success never ceases to astonish me.
For a large part, we have our mods to thank. You guys buy into my vision of a helpful, sharing, kind (mostly) and polite (erm, yeah, I know I slip up sometimes) environment and enforce this ruthlessly. Not all former members of SHF enjoyed this, but the rest of us sure did.
Mods, your actions allow the likes of nanningbob et al to flourish in a space that they can use to develop their ideas in peace, secure in the knowledge that the troll will not get a look in. Thanks guys.
Then we have the systems and ea developers. I am not going to try to name you all because I will miss someone. You know whom you are. The rest of us know whom you are. We are all deeply in your debt.
Then we have the contributors who have tested and reported tirelessly. Every one of your posts has moved a process forward. Every time a process moves forward, the collective at SHF moves forward. We would not go far without your commitment.
And then we have the great mass of Silent Lurkers, who have taken on board my plea to stay stum until they have something useful to say. Well done guys and thanks; lack of pointless verbiage saves the mods a lot of tidying up. One day you will have something constructive to offer; I look forward to you saying it.
What I can say with absolute certainty: us old stagers are saving the newbs a lot of the pain we first endured when we encountered the train wreck that is retail Forex trading.
So, get those Champagne corks popping guys. Happy birthday.
