Hi all,
a catch-up here on some of the terminals as i update them. Didnt get much done today, but here go's with the few changes and observations.
Firstly i cant keep up with Gettings demo on the Full Monty mix from JL from here in the Flavours thread of JL's;
http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 756#p83756
and getting's demos;

I am going back to v3 of the KAGI Full Monty mix because v4 seems to close positions very early, and most of the times, i dont cover the fees from GP broker for positions. I have posted in its thread with a pic and the way forward from now.
1Hr chart only on EU and same settings as posted by JL's rar except for magic=0 and 1%risk. Running a demo on GP and ava.

Then TCO v1.6, was not winning the way it's supposed to.For those who didnt follow the TCO thread, I had changed the EA code to look at 15M TF instead of the 1HR. Using only EU charts with 5 different approaches. I'm sticking to the change with new set file a few lines below;
The 4 methods showed these results over a steady 3 month period,
Ichimoku, 9 wins, 6 losers, but overall loss from high SL's being hit.
MA 20/50 had no trades over the 3 month period.
MACD had 13 wins and 12 losses, but again, big SL hits meant negative result.
and Turtle gave me 10 wins and 7 losses.
This is the demo i used;
http://www.myfxbook.com/members/Cuzgeor ... ual/780494
with a set file like this one but adjusted for each method;
tco turtle 1.set
Its not so great so going to change the following in each chart and see what happens;
The lower TF signal method will be 1 for Williams%, going to use ATR for SL and TP, Jump Stops increased to 32 pips, and MACD methods going to use traditional. Those are the changes to the above set file that didnt work out.
I'm following developments for this EA using Bobs 10.6 and not jumping in yet. I bumped TCO in FF once and happy to see him here with his EA. So many options and ways to tweak this one, it would be great to hear from others if they have managed to get a successfull set going.
new set file example;
tco new turtle set for example.set
I gave up on Baluda's Ichimoku and Steves Ziggy. COuldnt get them to run with the profits. Stopped a while back but would also be good to hear from others if they had success there. Steve and Paul i'm sure would be happy to look at the code again if changes needed.
As for JL's flavours, Pygmalion was the last one and it blew recently. I have finished with those as mentioned before but trying out the KAGI Full Monty now.
A new set up is running Andy's 10.4 multitrader, with xM NSNA v3 , and then mixed up with MArylin also. HAHAHA, Steves going to kill me.

Very interesting to see them trade alongside each other. Its an experiment to see how they all trade with each other and coupled with manual trades. i Need to look at Marylin as im not getting trades there except for Gold. Using Milanese's 40Cset file and had one win and one loss so far. NSNA is trading the most and multi has yet to trade. Might be settings i need to adjust there. Only trading select pair, 4 for xmeter and 6 for 10.4. Main ones and gold for Marylin.
Throwing in manual trades when news shows me a direction;

For Marylin i'm using Milanese's version 40C from page 123. I'm also following Frank, Nubika and the rest of the guys there. Very promising work in Phills thread.
I ve also downloaded the new ProTrader and messing around with that to see for myself what the fuss is about. i must say my Empty4 experience is completely over-powering my sense of learning something new. Its hard to look at something new, but trying with Marylin as we might have a winner in ProTrader, we shall see.
Now, xmeter is definately waking up in a huge way. Waiting to see how Jl does in his demos and how this all works out.
As for the variants, i can safely say that all the " Protect" versions are getting their recovery positions taken out by SL way too early. This is therefore not allowing xmeter to recover enough to close the series, and the DD just gets bigger and bigger. The only time they are closing is when we get a real quick burst in the favourable direction. SHort pull-backs are not good enough to close these losing series trades. Any xmeter that is closing too many trades too quickly, i'm stopping.
Ovisun has mentioned that he is looking at the coral version. The only one that makes sense is the v10 that AGT is still testing. What i remember about Coral was that LonelyTrader who asked for Coral, found that xmeter would enter in-correctly based ont he Coral indi. I'm not sure if this was only the initial trade, or subsequent recovery trades.
My experience with Coral was that when the higher L levels would kick in, then xmeter at some point would take a very very large recovery trade that wasnt according to the settings. This would sometimes, work, but in my case it blew an account, so i dropped it. It was similar to the leglac version that did the same thing.
Now, NonLinear is kicking it with his demo here;
http://www.myfxbook.com/members/nonline ... 13k/531076
This is what i'm also finding with my 13k's. I am however interfering as ive mentioned numerous times in my posts.
I'm going to sift throught he demos and come back with a few instead of a whole lot in my next post. Ive promised AGT some more info and need to evaluate with some more time before posting. I think its time to consolidate and start dropping some of the older ones also.
JL always said that all the xmeters can be profitable provided one watches them and trades them correctly. This has taken me two years to find out for myself. Its the elusive set-and-forget one that hasnt popped up yet. I dont think we'll ever get that guys, too many variables in the markets at any given time.
What ive stopped already are the older successfull Speed v5, NoLimits v3.4 and FP9 that i posted about on page 13 at the bottom here. They are winners without any intervention although they were run on old, large account demos. Thats all i had available those days.
I'm also keeping Fury version, the cuzbot, and the EA run by Marcelo which i think was version 2.1.2 from the old thread. These old xmeters are dangerous but coupled with sensible, rare manual trades when its too damn obvious, are very profitable and successfull. These are only for those who know how xmeter trades and are not scared to jump in for a good fight. They are not set and forget EA's and are probably the most dangerous xmeters, but also most profitable. These EA's are also posted in this thread with set files, but understand them and make your own assumptions, otherwise you're not ready to trade them.
Im leaning more towards the FP9 with Cover and JL's latest xmeter Greta v8, based on 13k, but more after ive checked everything.

I also picked up something very interesting posted by SH ; Mentioned by Bourgenot in VM's crossfader thread and also by STeveT in the 10.4 A complete system thread, and housed by us here;
http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... XNewsAlert
Heres the file if anyone wants it as i got it;
FXNewsAlert.zip
set up and working through it. I am VERY much a news-trader and the idea has caught my attention. If anyone cares to check it out and drop us a line or two on their experiences. I like it myself, but only a week with the tool and looking to spend more time to understand it. Would like to know if someone has found it useless so we dont waste out time on it though. Doesnt seem to slow the PC down at all although it look very involved. I'm running it all the time and looking to understand it more.
Hope you all had a restfull break, and huge new year party. Good luck to all for 2014.
