:hi:

as the HelperEA B had set the SL in front of the HA line, what was not intended, you will now find a new version in the first post attached this one will set the SL behind the HALine as intetended and has too a min. distance from price to SL hardcoded for avoding some possible 130 errors..

Cheers :)

Good morning,

As the 30 minute TF picture below shows Price Action broke below the 30 minute HA and drop over 100+ pips...
HA30minute.png
Since the 4 hour price action was still below the HA line then the odds of a successful sell trade was much better and if I was awake I would have taken it as the R/R was worth it.
HA4hour.png
Now I would either have set a TP at 100 pips from entry or just let it continue with the SL behind the 30 minute HA line...

Since I was asleep it is a good idea to use a helper EA to catch those big moves. Nothing complicated just a little logic to implement my strategy. :)

I have attached an excel spreadsheet that can help give a picture of trading parameters like costs, profits, pips needed, leverage etc....

If anyone can help check the formula's are correct or can add to it that would be great. I currently have it set for GBP/JPY with a GBP base account. If someone knows how to add options in the D6 cell to configure other currency pairs that would be great.

Current price "F6" is hard-coded but if anyone knows of a way to DDE into the cell the latest GBP/JPY streaming price from Empty4 please feel free to add it or let me know how to...

The green areas can be change as they are variables to be added by the trader.

I am using Open Office but I have saved the file in .xls format so I hope nothing has broken :)

If you have idea's on adding stuff or making it better please just do it and message me with the updated file so I can add it to the post 1 attachments...

Here is what price is doing now.
jan6v1 report.png
As this is a Monday AND price action has been at it's daily ADR I will be cautious about opening any major new positions... It sucks to be in the middle of the wave... :)

On the chart price is at an interesting level.... Let's see what happens over the next hour...

Patience, patience and more patience... :)

Just as an FYI if price action crosses over and above the hourly HA line then I will believe that the swing trade is over and will look to get on-board with new bullish trades...

I have decided to take a small buy position as price has broken above the 30 minute HA line. Reason why it is small is price is still below 1 hour and 4 hour HA lines so it makes no sense to risk more until I get stronger confirming signals. Once the hourly HA line breaks then I will look to put more positions on the table.

As you can see I have a relatively tight SL so risk is minimal. We will have some news at in less then an hour so the market could know something. I know I do not and will go wherever it wants to go. :)

I barely posted the 30 minute before price action shot up even more. Now I take a look at the 1 hour chart and see the price is right at the line. If it crosses up and stay above for a few bars then I will open addition positions for a possible test of the 4 hour HA line...

Thanks... The hard part is getting as close to the breakout as possible but when you do stay on it and ride it out.

In this case I can put my SL behind the 5 minute HA line if the market is in a strong trend but to stay in the market longer I would look at staying behind the 30 minute HA line once there has been a sufficient amount of time in the trend.

One of my past mistakes was to try to use indicators that show overbought/oversold conditions like stochastic etc... but they are not for trending markets. They can be right 80% of the time but I make the big pips in trending conditions so once I got rid of them I was getting a much better R/R and average pip win.

Here is the latest snapshot of my trade...
HA1hour.png
Now I have place my position perfectly for a risk free trade. If price comes back I will add additional bullish positions as long as price stays above the 30 minute and hourly HA line...

If price goes below then I will reassess... Now I could take profit off of the table but I want to be in the hour trend if it continues so I will let it stay for now... If 4 hour price action breaks above the HA line I will become much more aggressive with my positions...
