Great stuff Skyline, well done...

I have noticed also that the candles, EDSEL bars, CSS, daily pivots and even the STO7 differ between my live platform and that of Cowboy IBFX. Now, I am not looking to make excuses for my relatively "poor" performance, because there is just to much user interference for that, but, it seems to me that I should base my trading decisions on Cowboy IBFX only, and then place those trades / pendings on my live platform, in order to ensure that I am on the same page as Bob / everyone else.

Or are the differences not such a big deal?

Thoughts anyone?

Well i don't think broker is such a deal if you place orders following 10.4/10.6 rules (i'm trading with Oanda), yes maybe there could be some pips difference when placing orders but in the end positive outcome should be reached.

Thanks Skyline, I thought it may be so, however, when the STO7 and daily pivots are influenced I get concerned (perhaps out of ignorance) as these two items would influence when and where entry would take place...

I understand your concern but there is so much pair to look at, don't try so hard analyzing a chart trying to pick perfect entries (at least this is how i do), just look if there could be a signal and place order accordingly, double check with css daily to see if that order is reasonable then place pending orders and move onto next pair. The fact that not everyone here are using the same broker and among us there are some profitable traders should tell you that broker is not that important (from an entry signal point of view).
I have no doubt that if i switch to Cowboy IBFX (or whatever different broker) i will be still profitable (or with little loss) not because i'm a genius but due to trading system rules which will put you (more often than not) on the right direction (which is the main trend).
As Bob said, start with small comfortable lot size (start with 0.01) and pile up trades ( i usually have 10-15 trades opened, one for each pair), you will see then magically (when trend resume or kick in) that pips will start to come in your account just let the trend have the time to develop, don't close order as soon as you are 20-50 pips in profit, and don't move stoploss to breakeven too early, wait at least 100-150 pips gain before to do so, then when you reach a positive % gain of overall account (or friday is coming) close all basket orders with positive and negative trades and take your profit for the week, very simple , this how i'm trading sucessfull using edsel.

Hope this helps ;)

Bob, Steve...

Big Thank you for your work on 10.6xx
Our trading styles are very similar in that I trade trend weakness, mean version trades, Gann Octave trades, and fib expansion trades and trade multiple positions at the same time with several methods and techniques based on market conditions present at that time. 10.6 is a great addition to an already well diversified strategy mix. First trades using 10.6 today's session (NFP), +53 on CADJPY ( I left pip on the table for this one.. but had set a pre-determined profit level at +50 pips and was slipped positive 3 pips). +107 USDJPY (hit a preset target at the 105.30 level, reversed for the fall); +18 on NZDUSD (H4 setup) .. and this is just the first day.

Greatly appreciate your generosity in offering this and your other great works. It makes a great addition to currency strategy mix for an even stronger tool box.

Best regards,

ps... now time to ..

pss.. By the way.. my broker is ATCBrokers.. 6 year relationship with them. I know the owner personally, have them on my skype and mobile. Rarely an issue. Demo feed is identical to live feed (one of the few that I know where the feeds are the same data).. tight spreads, nice flow on busy markets.. Also, I like their *.MKT feed which I know I will get filled instantly. Feed is used by large groups I manage and oversee, particularly Vietnam and China. The feed is an ECN wholesale feed. They get the feed from FXCM, wholesale. Clean data and rarely an issue. ATCBrokers is in the process of becoming their own clearing firm, so spreads will get even better. For scalping, they have a great Advance Order script that is a great advantage for placing multiple legs simultaneously, with preset stops, trailing stops, b/e + xxx. I fully support and endorse ATCBrokers. (Disclaimer.. I do not work for ATCBrokers. I do have accounts with them). If there is ever a technical issue, and they are rare, their support team is attentive, courteous and responsive. Just my professional confirmation of a great broker.. I have worked for several in the past,.. top 5 on Chicago byway... and know the games played.. ATCBrokers is a dream. They have my vote. Hope this helps. if I can be of service, please.. contact me.. will be happy to assist.

JPY has not moved much so far this month except the cad/jpy.

However there have been trades out there. Looking at buys even in range areas like the nzd/jpy for 184 pips in two weeks has been good. I also got 148 with usd/jpy. I have Drawdown on the usd/jpy but am not worried about that one. aud/jpy for 48 pips playing off of support. I have lost on the gbp/jpy -45 and cad/jpy +33 but have a DD now. I am carrying DD on both but not worried about either one. I am not trading eur/jpy and chf/jpy because of CSS reads and fundamental expectations.

So trades are out there in the range areas above the 240 line right now. It is not spectacular but there are times you just have to grind out the pips. I look for buys and use the STO 7 with bounces off of trend lines or support lines. That is range trading.

I used to trade the aud/nzd when its spread was 25 pips. Still made money. 20-30 years ago the smallest spreads were 50 pips and went up from there. You also needed 10's of thousands of dollars to trade with and then you were a pipsqueak. There were no mini or micro lots. Everyone traded long term, buy and hold, and traded with fundamental knowledge along with indis. 30 pip stop losses would have gotten you laughed out of the room back then. Its only been with computers, Empty4 platform, and brokers that little traders have been able to trade with small amounts of money and high leverage. The modern Forex philosophy of MM did not exist back then. Yet if you trade like they did back then you would be laughed out of the typical Forex Forum today. They used daily, weekly, and monthly charts and chart patterns were used with S/R/Pivot lines along with trendlines. Then you entered a trade, sometimes waiting weeks for the right spot. Times have changed.
