More bond purchases rhetoric ?

No surprises from latest BOJ policy announcement. Governor Kuroda affirmed that the Central Bank will maintain current stimulus package, repeating all the bullish rhetoric that he has been saying before nominated/elected into the hot seat back in late 2012. Nonetheless, this non-event managed to quell some rumours about BOJ potentially lowering the inflation target 1 year on after the onset of current stimulus package on concerns that the initial target may be too lofty and unrealistic. With the Central Banker coming on record to say that current target and loose monetary policy remains on track, speculators and investors alike interpreted this as a sign that BOJ is willing to implement further stimulus package to hit the 2% target by hook or by crook, resulting in renewed confidence that Yen weakness will continue.

An hour before the news Cad was flat at -1.02 - now it is down at -1.19 - I wonder if an alert like when the CSS value jumps 10 points it sent an alert would help us get in those moves?

You arent getting those moves unless you are playing the news story that goes with it. I am amazed that a Bank can announce they are not changing anything and the market moves 200 points. Amazing. Even more amazing is other countries are deliberately trying to depreciate their currency and little Canada is going bonkers without really trying. But hey that is Forex. What I have noticed though is when this has happened to other currencies in the past on a no news big jump is they retrace most if not all of the move within a couple of days to a week so will try to catch the backslide. Going to bed now. Wish I knew what the heck was driving the CAD into the ground. It has got me stumped.

Forgive me for presenting classical charting on 10.6 thread, but perhaps after spending December 2013 and early January 2014 clearing multi-month resistance USDCAD -- if not doing a GBPCAD -- is probably just following through.
