Re: 10.6 EDSEL
First I am having a lot of trouble with the internet here in China. I have periods of hours I cant get on and other times I keep getting knocked off. So my comments maybe spotty.
This week, breakouts have happened and volatility seems to be the norm. Not a market for the faint-hearted. You can make a lot or lose quickly. Hopefully the CSS will guide us through.
aud, nzd angling down sharply. Look to sell those two. aud is already south of the 0 line and the nzd just crossed it.
The usd is also angling down but like the gbp which is angling up they are ranging. I see a better chance of gbp going up than I see the usd continuing going down. More likely a mixed bag of some going up and some going down. So pick and choose from these.
Eur and chf are both angling up and look to buy these.
Jpy is up and on top. This could continue for at least another week or so. Look for buys.
Cad is in another world all by itself. I still dont have a read on it. It could continue to sink or it could have hit bottom and start coming back up. I have no idea.
Eur and chf buys against aud, nzd look like the best deals of the week.
JPY buys against aud, nzd look real good too.
gbp may go up then you group them with the eur and chf buys
USD may go down then you group them against the euro currencies as a sell.
Jpy probably will continue to strengthen so buy it against usd and Asian currencies.
Cad ....................... not touching it. sell most likely.

Hi guys, sorry, I feel like a complete Noob, but....
:
I have checked with my broker and 10c per pip is the minimum that they offer, and it indeed seems that that is the minimum that is available in the market... Except for Cowboy IBFX US it seems... Would they really be the only ones?

10 cents per pip is the norm, that what we all trade... basically it means that you need a minimum of 2,000 to not be over leveraged. if your risking 5 cents per 1,000, it means 10 cents per 2,000 so your fine.HannesJoubert » Mon Jan 27, 2014 10:18 am wrote:Hi guys, sorry, I feel like a complete Noob, but....:

Re: 10.6 EDSEL
Hmm, I thought so, oh well, all that means is I need to back off until I manage to raise more funds :sigh: Rather that than lose it all due to being over exposed...lonelytrader » Mon Jan 27, 2014 4:20 pm wrote:10 cents per pip is the norm, that what we all trade... basically it means that you need a minimum of 2,000 to not be over leveraged. if your risking 5 cents per 1,000, it means 10 cents per 2,000 so your fine.HannesJoubert » Mon Jan 27, 2014 10:18 am wrote:Hi guys, sorry, I feel like a complete Noob, but....:

My suggestion is while you get more funds, trade demo... gain experience even if it is demo... its priceless.HannesJoubert » Mon Jan 27, 2014 10:29 am wrote:Hmm, I thought so, oh well, all that means is I need to back off until I manage to raise more funds :sigh: Rather that than lose it all due to being over exposed...lonelytrader » Mon Jan 27, 2014 4:20 pm wrote:10 cents per pip is the norm, that what we all trade... basically it means that you need a minimum of 2,000 to not be over leveraged. if your risking 5 cents per 1,000, it means 10 cents per 2,000 so your fine.HannesJoubert » Mon Jan 27, 2014 10:18 am wrote:Hi guys, sorry, I feel like a complete Noob, but....:

also, if you really want to go with smaller lots, google NANOlots or cent lots...
BUT PLEASE REMEMBER, those who offer these options, might not all be regulated... or charge a higher spread, so in the end it might not be worth it.
FYI, i started trading with only 800$ ( thats all i had) so yes for the next while I will be trading riskier, but if you stay strong and dont deviate, you will make it, this system is AWESOME

Re: 10.6 EDSEL
Yip, trading demo for the meantime is the way forward for me.
Raising $ 1'000 minimum is going to be difficult, no joke, could take about 18 months *if* nothing else goes wrong in the rest of my finances (yes, it is that bad, I have even stopped smoking in order to save money, whilst good for my health, I really miss the tobacco
)
Anyway, my problem not yours...I will stay on the forum though, as I am sure that Bob will bring further changes to the system as it evolves..
Cheers

Re: 10.6 EDSEL
So much to sacrifice to put $1000 together and yet you are prepared to put it all into a forex account when just starting out and not quite sure yet what exactly you are doing. Hmmm! Do what yours truly did about 4 years ago. Open an A--l--p--a--r--i--U--K micro account and fund it with £10 and not a penny more. Make sure it's a 1:500 leverage account and start trading 0.01 lots. See how long it takes you to lose it all. Then put another £10 in and see if you get to keep it for longer than the last time and so on. Suddenly, you will find that the 10 becomes 20 and then 40 and so on. You can begin to call yourself a trader then.HannesJoubert » Mon Jan 27, 2014 4:48 pm wrote:Yip, trading demo for the meantime is the way forward for me.

If you are not able to turn £10 into 20, you have no business risking your life's savings on forex. Never mind how rich they are, nobody loses a grand without stopping to bat an eyelid.
And as for demo-trading, it has its uses; but it is not comparable at all to live trading. YOU NEED TO HAVE SOMETHING TO LOSE to derive any real benefit from the routine.
You certainly are in good company here, and it shouldn't be long before you are managing a 4-figure account and more. Here's wishing you the best.
