Steve's 10.6 EA manual trading aids

Something crazy just happened with my live account, using the H4 Stochastic Buy.

Just happened to check my phone when I found it was taking USDJPY trades, and closing them, like crazy. Maybe 30, 40 trades? The same EA seems to be behaving normally on several other pairs.

Here is a sample log from the Experts file.

The EA is OOTB, with the exception of modifying the lot size. Obviously I don't have a clue, would anyone else? File attached.

From the amount of information you provided, I can guess based on the charts that its due to the fact that the close at 240 MA is TRUE... since the usdjpy is below the MA, it keeps closing it to stay with in the rules of the system, buy above, sell below.

From the amount of information you provided, I can guess based on the charts that its due to the fact that the close at 240 MA is TRUE... since the usdjpy is below the MA, it keeps closing it to stay with in the rules of the system, buy above, sell below.

That makes sense. As I was scrolling through my charts, setting the EAs, I was kind of doing a visual of the 240 being in an uptrend, but didn't consider what the EA would do if the price was below. I'm just lucky it didn't clear out my account.

Keeps freezing on the charts. I know this was mentioned before, just thought that it was fixed in the 1b version.

I have been having the same thing happen. This copy of Empty4 keeps hanging up and I have to shut it down several times today. I looked at the Windows task manager and it had my CPU loaded to 96%, normally operating around 30%.

Tried all sorts of things, but I think I found it. I was getting a crapload of zero divide errors on the 10.6 market info V.1.01 indicator. I pulled it off all my charts, and it hasn't seem to have hung itself yet.

Guys, divide by zero errors occur when a variable, say AverageTradingRange is divided by another variable, say PipsFromOpen. If the market = the open price, then PipsFromOpen = 0, so the program is dividing AverageTradingRange by 0, which is not allowed.

This error stops an EA until it is restarted, but it looks as though indi's keep going - and continue to generate the error.

Now, I have no idea why one of the helper EA's sending a trade should combine with the dbz errors to freeze the platform, but remember this: Empty4 is a demented pile of diseased, puss laden dingo sputum coded by morons with the coding ability of a thick 13 year old. On a good day; let's not even contemplate the horrors of a bad day.

Oh brother, but next week is going to be fun (http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 827#p72827). Don't expect to get any trading done; you will all be too busy getting in touch with your brokers demanding to know why the effing platform doesn't effing well work any more.

Took a look at the 10.6 market info v.1.01 divide by zero problem and cleared out the errors. Just this minute did it, so proceed witha test, but so far my terminal is much more responsive while keeping this indi on the charts. Seems MarketInfo(MODE_TICKVALUE) and MarketInfo(MODE_LOTSTEP) seem to be returning zero at times, or with certain brokers maybe which had a knock-on effect when they got divided by.

Dunno if it's of use to anyone else, I've uploaded it with the same file name but I guess it should be called 1.02.

We already knew that MarketInfo(MODE_POINT) could return zero. Now it seems that other MarketInfo calls can do the same.

Great. Crapperquotes at their finest yet again.

So, coders beware. If you are using the result of a MarketInfo call as a divisor, make sure the damn call has not returned zero because the dimwits at Crapperquotes are too thick to build this into their basic coding functionality.
