unfortunately, i had to drop the infinite loop inside the ea.. new Empty4 builds behave very angry when calling winapi from within a loop, everything is fine if the crap is driven by ticks.. so if you insist on smooth operation independent of ticks coming from the price feed, you have to run some tick generator in background.. considering this, there is really no advantage in using the EA rather than the indicator, the reason for using the EA has been its independence on ticks, and that's gone.. i recommend to simply attach the indi version to any chart and run a ticker all the time.
NB: the attached versions won't work with older builds because of calling unicode winapi things.. so if you're still using 509 or below, stick to the original code.

welcome here, and thank you for posting your update here
The clean and simple way to do this is to create a shortcut of the MQL4 folder and place it next to the corresponding Empty4 platform icon. This bypasses having to launch the platform every time you want to add experts or indicators.

The "/portable" switch option has been the simplest and easiest for me; been using it since my VPS GP demos got updated. The instances running on my personal PC are still on 509 [ donno how/why the difference ]

Ups - yes the same observation here for me
And: Loading up fresh Empty4 instances from GP I got only the build 604 - but starting the "old" platforms - no refreshing occurs.
Have no clue why that happened ?
@Jemok - Do you have any explanations ?
Btw - could explain how to get the MFXB running now with build 604 ? I saw you mentioned this question shortly in a post above ?

Yep, me too. CNS VPS updated itself to version 604, home computer still on 509 even if I restart it. Real account BTW.
We still haven't pushed any updates to our clients and Empty4 auto-update is still set to 'disable'. I'm at a loss as to why some GP Empty4's have updated on their own and Metaquotes haven't given us a reasonable explanation. I've heard reports that if you have another Empty4 on your computer (can be from another broker) and it auto-updates then all other copies will auto-update too.
My advice now is to start getting used to the updates because it's only a matter of time before MQ disables older builds.
