Attached is a little indi I knocked together to show the results of the ADR calculations based on TIG's code. All the output is converted to pips, so this would need adapting to x digit crims when used in an EA.

I have made the inputs user-configurable, because I know what inveterate tinkerers you lot are.

Nice one Steve.

If you look at what it returns for EURCHF then you will see the big difference.

Short = 25 and Long = 124.

Now, if you were using a recovery type system and ReEntering based on the short value, then your account would get killed asap!!!

Another big example is USDNOK. Short = 589 and Long = 827

There are still people successfully trading various incarnations of The Beast live, so it would be good to be able to make Recovery more accurate. Maybe there is life in the EA still.

I absolutely refute that outrageous statement. I am NOT coming over the The Dark Side.

Proper Indiators have thingies like
int i,k,counted_bars=IndicatorCounted();

or

SetIndexStyle(0,DRAW_LINE);
SetIndexBuffer(0,MovingBuffer);
SetIndexStyle(1,DRAW_LINE);

No idea what all that is about. Nope, any indi I create addresses a specific thingy and produces a commented output, and is not a Proper Indicator in any way, shape or form. For Dark Side indis, I have the likes of you and sq. I want nothing to do with them until I have a spare 6 months to come to grips with them. :lol:

FYI everyone, I think it is time to breathe new life into The Beast, in light of scoobs' advice here.

In time for next week's trading, I will add my indi re-entry pips calculation to TB and start a new thread here.

Cheers scoobs. Nice one again.

Without trying to further complicate things, it maybe better to do the following....

Example:

Short Term ADR = 5 days
Medium Term ADR = 10 days
Long Term ADR = 20 days

So, GBPUSD returns 86pips, 113pips and 126pips. Re-Entry level would take an average of these 3 being 108pips rounded.

Obviously the 5 days, 10 days, 20 days would be user definable. So, you could use 5 days, 20 days and 200 days.

Scoobs.

PS. Dont quote me on those pip ranges i have given as it was just an example. So dont get your calculators out.

Hi Scoobs,

So don´t you think it is good to add now 50 pips to this new average?

Yes. In my opinion you should still add 50pips (4 digit) to whatever the calculations returns. But maybe make this a user input. i.e. ReEntryBufferPips=50 or whatever.
