Hope this will help anyone still trying to learn CSS. This is not a catch all.. but there are definately some great setups and situations to watch for where CSS will give a heads up and lead the way to potential market conditions.

The following real trades were focused on EU, GBP, YEN and USD.. particularly focused in on the YEN maintaining the Trend Line, showing consistent and continuing weakness holding to the self drawn Trendline. Since Yen held TL, my focus was to sell yen weakness and buy the counter currencies when timing was right.

Vertical lines on the chart show points where trade conditions setup.
1) First trade setup, buy USDJPY.
2) Next.. when GBP moved back up -0.20 I bought GBPJPY
3) Next... EUR turned up against the Yen, bought EURJPY
4) EURUSD dropped below +0.20, Sold EURUSD. EUR had not crossed below USD yet.. but USD was rising to meet EUR. This makes for a positive USD and negative EUR.. Sell EURUSD.

Trade results:
1) USDJPY: +89 pips, 1/2 position
2) GBPJPY: +102 pips 1/2 position
3) EURJPY: +32 pips 1/2 position
4) EURUSD: +117 pips 1/2 position.

Gain on account in past 48 hours: +2.71 %

Yes.. I was in several of these positions prior to the fed announcement on tapering based on CSS. After the announcement, based on CSS, at 50 pip intervals, positions were increased per trade management rules.

Once position equity reached certain levels and with STo7 confirming (along with my own proprietary utility) 1/2 positions are closed, with stops move to b/e +.

Important: In my professional opinion, the Fed announcement and resulting price action only confirmed what the CSS already was forecasting prior to the announcement. These positions were opened several hours prior to the news.

Trades were made based on 1) CSS, 2) H4 counter trend trades back into the direction of the MST.

Cheers
Thanks Bold,

I made a bunch as well last night, mostly xxxJPY long trades. Didn't see the USD coming though.

I see you have both the H4 and the D1 values on your CSS, can you share that with us?

The indi is Bob's 10.6 CSS.v1.0.11.24 pairs

I am trading the H1 chart, using H4 CSS. I do compare H4 to Daily, and prefer to trade in the direction of Daily..ie: if daily YEN is rising, and H4 is in the lower zone (< -0.20 and rising) this infers that YEN is moving in the direction of daily momentum/trend. I want to see STO7 in lower zone, < 20, and rising. I tend to prefer making counter trades in the direction of the MST or Dual MST as markets often tend to move strongly to these levels. I have discussed this information previously.

However, if currency H4 CSS is moving in the direction CSS Daily and in the direction of the H4 trend, and Sto7 supports the entry (ie: < 20), trading the H4 in direction of the Daily is very powerful.

Cheers

Thank you for your thoughts on CSS and your template.

Place the TMA+CG indicator on twice. One set to bands deviation 1.6185, the other 1.272, BoldTraders settings. The Indicator does have alerts but I have never tested them. I'll test the alerts.

My broker is still on build 509, so I do not know if TMA+CG will work with later builds.
The TMA version I uploaded (which I am not sure why many are having issues loading to Empty4) has alerts when price exceeds the channel levels. I load the same indi 2x with each having a setting value set to fib levels 1.272 and 1.6185. Others have expanded to add a third level of 2.0.. Personally I don't find that necessary, but if it works for them, go for it.

I simply use TMA with Sto7, with CSS, a proprietary tool which I developed and several different trading techniques, several of which I have posted here. The CSS is very complimentary as it supports the ability to determine overall strength/weakness of each currency individually and as compared to another currency. The previous chart I posted was an example of how the process can be used as Bob has so greatly explained many times. In reference to my style of trading, I am combining old school, professional trading tactics with modern techniques which are reflective of current market conditions and volatility.

A key I find which is important is to be patient and wait for the opportunities to appear, and then use the tool and be adaptable in the use of the various tools to the various market conditions. Certain sessions, it is better to trade in direction of H4 only. Other days, CT trades work best. Then there are ranging periods and trending periods. When do you make CT trades vs trending? or when should you not make any trades or when should you add on to a position or employ trade management practice, etc. Many questions to be learn over time with experience.

Hope this helps..

Thanks Boldtrader for the posts...
To those having problems with Boldtraders tma.mq4.. I also had a problem on my Empty4... for those coders, it should be fairly simple to edit & re-compile (the last function StringUpperCase uses a variable called "char" which Empty4 build 600 doesn't like - just change it.
For non-coders, use the attached (i've just changed variable char to variable c in StringUpperCase)
- hope this helps

@ Yamez; I normally enter and exit manually, tried the flexi-stoch-EA and got this trade;
Short@1.83399 -> TP@1.83089 for 31 pips.
Entered manually short @ 1.8300 with pending short @ DP.
I have observed this week the EA has a bug and closes the trade at BE, default 30 pips. I normally remove the EA once I get the email alert it sends and adjust my SL/TP manually. I don't use BE or JS that much.

Just to confirm this, 'char' is a Reserved Word in CrapQlxxxxx now. I always used it to spot a pair suffix. It now needs a find/replace with something else. Just remember to be whole word and case specific, or you will achieve some unexpected results. :arrrg: :arrrg: :arrrg:

Read the effing manual, ok?

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.
