It is NOT processor intensive because it only recalculates the current bar on every tick. All previous bars are only recalculated at the close of the current bar. I have them overlayed on the 10.6 screen and it helps me enormously on choosing a trade and timing the entry. For example, on the attached pic of GBPUSD, you can see that the H1 TMA (Orange) overextends beyond the H4 TMA (Magenta). This is telling you a rebound is very likely. If you are short, it would be a good place to take profits. I would not go long, because I never trade against the H4 TMA direction. Of course, the dummy bars are red so you would not go long in this instance anyway.
I hope this helps.
I have read through your ETMA system on ff
Nice to have you back
Thanks Ace.
Bob´s 10.6 system is the best I´ve ever traded. With TMA it becomes close to perfection. TMA keeps you out of the not so good trades even when 10.6 signals are all go. With 10.6 alone I was getting about 75% winners. With TMA and 10.6, I am getting a 92% success rate. Of course, TMA decisions are subjective and involve a lot of experience using it before you reap the benefits.

Welcome and always welcome. I would appreciate very much for your comments on using the TMA. Your experience and knowledge of it is way past mine. So please feel free to teach. I miss our discussions we have had from time to time. I am looking at a TMA setting of 1.5 because this show a very clear break above and below TMA outer lines. Then putting a pending at the xxx.000 and xxx.050 as you expect it to come back in. I also am looking at some of the other versions posted trying to see which one would work best with the system but I suspect they would be close to equal since they are similar types of indis. Right now I am trying to grasp using Fib numbers instead of ATR and then there is the Gann lines. Need some study time on those but if you can enlighten me on their differences I would appreciate it.

It is the combined angle of all the currencies combined into one line and then compared to each other. So in a sense we have been using it for a very long time. For those who struggle with ranging markets and of the range style idis will work and it comes down to personal preferences. If you follow the rules of my system price above/below 60/240 is a trending market, you use 10.4 and 10.6 trades. If price touches the 60 and predicts range mode (olive/goldenrod colors) you then use the TMAs, BB, etc indis you will find them very successful. That is the beauty of 10.6. You read the market and then use the appropriate indicators to enter the market.
For example Capt. Jacks Naked trading will work excellently in range areas but struggle in trending markets. Double tops/bottoms (W or M formations) are great in ranging markets. It is useful in day trading during the non news times in Forex. If news stories fit the formation it works great, but news will bust those formations also. No matter what system you use big news stories will always beat an indi system. Solid MM helps you get through those rough times.
Last week I had a losing week, this week I am all smiles. I am up for the month and up for the year but still I have my bad moments. Anyway while price ranges any of these indis, TMA, BB, M/W formations, GANN lines are going to work. Anyway if you want to know how to use a TMA go to Alorent thread at FF and he will teach you how to use that thing.
Thanks Bob, but I no longer participate in the Extreme TMA thread. It became extremely time consuming and it was taking too much of my trading time, but I will be glad to answer questions anyone has regarding how to use TMA in this thread.
Congratulations on a true masterpiece you have accomplished with 10.6.

OK Al I tried to beat your record of winning trades in a row. I once got up to 78 winners in a row. Have you done better than that?? I know this is purely an ego thing but I was just curious.

Thanks for the welcome, Bob.
I have tried all the settings known to man extensively in TMA. In the end, I decided to stick with 2.0 Multiplier and 50 Period because it gives me the best picture of MTF TMA´s overlapping each other. I also find 2.0 works extremely well with 10.6 regarding TP´s. Depending on the strength of the trend, I will take profits on the other side of H1 on weaker trends and the opposite band of H4 on stronger trends. Sometimes I take half of the profit on H1 and let the other half run to the H4 band. Countertrend moves usually are reentered at the centerline on the H4. There are a lot of different ways to use these bands and together with 10.6 it makes trading fun again.

Yes. 86 in a row is my record now, using 10.6 and TMA together.

My competitive nature gives me a goal to shoot for. LOL I understand the part of threads taking up time. I am trying to slow down on this one mainly because we have several really experienced traders that understand and can explain things in a way I cant. Besides we all have our blind spots and I am certainly not immune. Using the TMA for Range and reentering dips and rallies with the STO 7 may really gives us a better grip of a situation. I think it will be an improvement to an already workable system.
I have to slow down some because I have sold my school here in Nanning and am winding things down. It will take up a lot of my time to transfer to the new owners. By July I expect to have a normal job here in China working 20-25 hours a week rather than the 60-80 I have been and concentrating more on trading than teaching. One of my goals is hopefully I can visit that beautiful country of yours, along with some others. So back to work. I need to set up next years school budget and prepare to speak Sunday night to a crowd.

Congratulations on the sale of the school.
There should be no reason why you can´t make trading your full time work. With this beautiful system of yours and using TMA to filter out the bad trades you should win consistently. If you want, when you have trading time in July, I´ll be glad to call out my trades with an explanation of why I am entering them. I would also love to have you visit Spain and stay in my house. It would be fun to talk trading with you in person.
