EA based on support/resistance

backtesting works not correct as I said in my previous post.. and I see you are using H1 tf so you have changed too PERIOD_SR setting?OOTB it openes only one trade, stacking is set off.
Please do demo forward testing ..

Yes true, you said backtesting was not correct. Sorry about that I was in hurry to try this EA. I'll do some forward testing for sure.

So this would not work right in backtester due to usage of multi time frames ?

Q2: What is recommended minimum bars in history/chart for this to work properly ?

Hi Spider,

yes mtf usage is one reason..
I would recommend to have more than a min of 2000 bars in chart, the EA needs in min 100 for working, but more is for sure better for the zone calculations..

Hi all :hi:

seeing a good interest in this EA I decided to recode completly the indicator embedding, so that it should now work much better.
New you find UsingOnlyProvenZones=true; if it is set to true the EA will only use proven S/R zones for opening positions. Setting it to false will let the EA too use verfied zones.
Backtesting makes not much sense with this EA as it will be very slow and the value of crappy backtester is not big at all, too the EA uses more tf..
Please don't forgaet OOTB the EA is set for M30 tf, if you want to change the tf please use PERIOD_SR=PERIOD_M30 to set the tf you want to use, you can too play with the other tf setings (PERIOD_2CandleRule=PERIOD_H4,PERIOD_ATR=PERIOD_H4).
Please report your results, with the setings you use and if you see again positions taken that should not be taken let me know...
I hope much will do some demo forward testing with this EA, so that we can maybe improve the strategy or create new variants.

This sounds promising.
If I drop it on a H4 chart and set the trading time frame to H1 will the internal indicators calculate correctly? I've always wondered this with my own EA's. Is it best to drop it on a chart of the same or lower time frame you want to use? or is a 1 min TF chart best, then set up the options?

It will calculate correct, independed of the tf you set the EA..
No there is no vantage for setting on 1min chart, best for seeing the SR zones the EA shows, is setting it on the tf you set the PERIOD_SR too.

Tommaso...I have upgraded to Empty4 ver.625,will the EA still work?
I see that I got no connection with the broker after the upgrade,does somebody know why?
