another newbie question for you....

Bob states that he takes quick profits and then reenters trades that are still trending at the next 000/050 level.

Will his criteria ( or anyone elses ) just be that the dummy lights are the correct colour and the Sto7 still in an upward/downward direction in order to justify a re entry ? Or will the Sto7 need to be in the top/bottom zones as per initial entry rules? What if the Sto7 indicates oversold/overbought ?

Will you wait for candle confirmation maybe?

Hope that makes some kind of sense
Thanks
Nicole
I take quick profits especially if I dont think the trend is strong. Forex is such an up and down and up and down business. I figured out a long time ago that I did better if I took those 20-40 pip surges and reentered when they retraced then just riding one trade hoping to hit it big. That is why sometimes my pip counts come in so ridiculously high at times. When the big moves do hit its like a roller coaster going down and things add up quickly. Most of the time I walk away with 50-150 pips in a session. Do that 3 sessions a day and you have had a good day. It also keeps me from agonizing over single trades wondering what did I do wrong. I didnt do anything wrong, price just didnt go my way. Close and next session. I usually do pretty well that way but sometimes I really misread the market or I dont know why the market is moving like it did. For example I still have no concept of why the CAD died like dead duck last month. I gave back most of my profits for the month because I couldnt conceptualize why the CAD was dieing. I ended up going much deeper in the hole than I would like. It happens.

For example I closed 129 pending trades that never took in January. I read the screen, I set up my trades and bingo they didnt hit. SO I close those pendings out. That is an average of 5 per day. I also closed out 115 losing trades or about 5 a day. That means 10 trades a day on average I was wrong. However I had 583 winning trades for the month or average 23 a day. Since I trade 24 currency pairs that averages 1 trade per day per chart. Doesnt mean I have a trade going on every chart but it shows what you can do if you did. I read my CSS and get the feel of the market for the week, I post those Sunday or Monday, and then enter off of the STO 7 signal. About 70%+ times it is a winner 15% no hit and 15% a loser. Since those odds are fairly consistent every month for me I only have to stay away from the big loser, which I didnt in January, stinky CAD, but that is trading. :)

Need Help For 10.4/5/6

Post by f1trader »

Hi guys!

First of all, the mandatory thank you to Bob, Steve and everybody else contributing to this forum :)
What you guys have done here is quite incredible. Thank you!!!!!

Now a newbie question regarding the CSS template.
I am trying to set up Empty4 but I cannot see the currency lines, just a black screen with the text on top.
I opened a demo account with both Global Prime and Cowboy IBFX but neither will work for me.
I also tried changing the period and refresh the charts… Nothing :(

Any ideas of what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks again!!!
