Hi, Al
I kept the Daily FastTMA plotted in 4H. The combination with ATRchannels (60) gives similar readings in OB/OS situations, and the bending of the channel re-entering the Daily TMA seems also very good to spot reversals.
At this moment, in 4H, one could play a very simple system using just Dummie lights, ATR channels (60) and FastTMA daily.

Yes. I know whay you mean. I am using TMA also... too many years using it to stop now. I would love to have an MTF version of the ATR Channels indi in order to overlay them like we do with TMA. I guess it can be done by multiplying the MA by the multiple. If 60 MA is H1, then 240 MA would be H4, 1440 D1 and so on. I´ll try it to see how it looks on the chart.zentauro67 » Thu Apr 03, 2014 7:34 pm wrote:Hi, Al

I found this one. With the same settings (60 MA) widens too much in relation to FastTMAline daily. Need some other settings to give a tigher range.

Bob, I wish I had this ATR deviation and CSS years ago.. Back then the VWAP was our standard to trade against. This blows that out of the water.boldtrader » Wed Apr 02, 2014 2:49 pm wrote:Currently short EURUSD: Here is trade setup for those wanting to learn or wants to see example..
Short entered at DP. In direction of H4, with STO7/Indi confirming.
Currently trade is about +35 pips with multiple positions.
Image also shows CSS setup to alert, give advance notice to the pending trade.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.
I show the following info in the hopes that it will help others and allow me share how I am using the Edsel System with the system / techniques with which I am most comfortable. The combination is incredible and very profitable.
Update on the EURUSD Short:
I am Still Short EU. Closed 1/2 position for +68 pips. I maintain a partial position in the event price does not bounce and drops further, while at the same time I book some profits to maintain equity increases. Stops are adjusted to b/e +10 to give market room to breathe in the event of a bounce while not allowing position to go negative. I have additional Sell orders already in place for any potential bounce back up to the MST level at 1.3750. If market does not bounce, have position for further drop (which I expect). Target is -1 deviation from mean on Daily. Building position for major downside move. I expect a further drop down to 1.3585 to 1.3550 before a short term retracement which will be used for putting in new shorts. Take profits on the lows before the turns.. let market bounce, use bounce for new sell positions (as long as trend remains down). Longer term (1-3 months?) looking for move to 1.3226/35 level. Even longer term, down into the mid 1.20's. There are MST's to be hit in that area.
Here is a pic of trade screen and how I have add/adopted CSS, STo7 and ATR to my current style.
Notice how the ATR shows the potential for price to move to certain levels based on it's norm of trading 1 deviation from the mean.
I have current positions on also:
Short EURNZD - targeting 1.5985
Short EURUSD - targeting 1.3585/1.3550
Short GBPNZD - targeting 1.9285/88
Long NZDUSD - targeting 0.8632/35
Long USDJPY - targeting 106.26/35 (long term swing)
more to come...
Cheers and pips to all.

That´s what it seems a strong reversal signal. It´s the classic 1-2-3 pattern (shown here by the help of fractals) when 1 and 2 happen outside the outer band of the channel and 3 appears back into the channel.
(I have muted the first channel lines (perfectly expendable) and let visible only the extreme ones. Using 240 as ATR period. Not so smooth as 500 but markets change so fast...)

I have the ATR lines set at 1.5,3,and 4.5. Would you also look at 2,4,6 especially on the more volatile currencies like eur/nzd, gbp/xxx, and let me know what you think. The other solution for volatile currencies would be to add a 4th line at 6.0.boldtrader » Fri Apr 04, 2014 3:49 am wrote:Bob, I wish I had this ATR deviation and CSS years ago.. Milanese and I have been working on a MTF STO with special settings and combining it with a Trendline break to give a warning. Then you enter off of a line of your choice. For example a 10.4 system would be DP,WP, S/R. An Edsel would be xxx.000/xxx.50 lines, and a 10.7 would be the 60MA with ATR lines. It even would work with Capt. Jacks Naked trading. IN other words it would be a signal system that would fit into anyone's personal trading system. You would get a signal and you would look for your trade. These signals combined with CSS reads or Oddball TL shapes are deadly. What happens is they filter out those trades that arent quite ready to go yet. I even have a thought of a 10.8 system where you only take signals towards positive swaps. You would only trade CT trades or trend trades into a positive swap system. An interesting thought.
Anyway we are working on the final stages of this warning system and traders who have a hard time filtering trades would have that part done for them. Then the only decision to make is compare it with CSS and what ever you like as a trading system and go. It also has a short term, mid term, and long term take profit signals but that is not done yet. Just some thoughts of whats been going on and why I havent posted many trades this week. I am like 28-2 this week using it but that is not an accurate result of the final product because we have been making changes as we see things on trades we havnt taken.

This would be similar to the 6ths screen we used in 5.0. Waiting for an extreme and then entering a CT trade. I already know that works. I posted every trade I took for a year at FF with my 4.0/5.0 threads. Filter out the long trend runners and its very successful. With the new indi we will post, hopefully a test version this weekend, it and CSS will help filter out some/most of the runners for you. In other words dont do it with ones that are strongly angling away from each other on the CSS and you will get your retrace.zentauro67 » Fri Apr 04, 2014 5:20 am wrote:That´s what it seems a strong reversal signal. That was always the issue with TMA was the back testing. You knew it would work if you learned to read it but the only way to learn to read it was by live trading. Very difficult to backtest. Now you can back test and I think with TomDeMark TL and STO7 you really have a consistent easy to read system. I need a TMTL indi that leaves the TL so we can backtest easier. Which TMA indi are you using for daily trades - there are so many around now with different versions would be good to know which work for this strategy.

I like it and thanks. Also keep posting when you can because I cant all the time either. Al and you have been a great help in bringing a fresh perspective to trading. Capt. Jack did also. Its great to have you here. Anyway time for class. 8 weeks left and school is out, we have 1 week of vacation left for Easter and May Holiday, so 7 weeks left. 1 week is for testing so 6 weeks left. 1 week is for end of the year program and other things so 5 weeks of lesson plans left in my life. Its been a great career but classroom teaching/administration is about over. I know I will miss the kids but I am also tired of the long hours, meetings, decisions, preparation, grading, test, programs, etc. Now its my turn to slow down and enjoy doing some things I have always wanted to do.
Let's see: Australia/New Zealand, England, Germany/Austria (gotta visit my roots), Spain to visit AL, Middle East (when its quiet), Thailand again, Even the Ukraine was on my list until (ok ok Steve, I will stay out of the political thing) and then there is Yellowston/Grand Tetons my favorite place on Earth. Then after that ...................... who knows Alaska cruise ?????????? Dreams are a great thing.
