I've never thought of using the global variables that way ...

Hi,
Somebody have simple working ea where news filter is working while backtesting?
I have no error but also there is no upcomming news. I saw that files from www.dailyfx.com/files/... returns html bcz of file not found.

was just looking at integrating this into an EA.
Some of the codes need updating for Empty4 v600.
Notably: StringSubStr

Hi!
Here is the code converted to newest MQ4. Seems to work OK, but I'm not 100% sure - the code is a bit complex and I'm not sure how it should work (I've never seen this indicator in action).

Auto GMT zone/offset would be a nice addition, if somebody knows how to do it.
So far my idea is to set LocalGMTZone and BrokerGMTZone accordingly to:
datetime UserGMTOffset = TimeGMT() - TimeLocal(); // returns GMT offset of local time
datetime ServerGMTOffset = TimeGMT() - TimeCurrent(); // returns GMT offset of servers time
However it will not work on weekends (TimeCurrent).

I try it on the backtester but it doesn´t work. Could you fix this bug please?!
Or did you have an idee where this bug could be, co I could fix it myself.

News- indicators can not be backtested..

Sorry to not agree with you, Tommaso.

I added a way into this EA to be able to be backtested. To do so the EA under test has to write the Current Time into a variable called "_TimeReference". It is only needed to put this into the main loop of the EA:

GlobalVariableSet ("_TimeReference", (double)TimeCurrent());

If instructed so the indicator will use this global variable as the time reference for the calculations. That is why there is a "UseGlobalTimeReference" setting. If set to TRUE if will use that Global Variable as the current time.

If you only need how the indicator performed in the past just use a dummy EA with the following code:

    GlobalVariableSet ("_TimeReference", (double)TimeCurrent());
}

I've to revise this indicator/library in the near future.

The indi download the history 01.06.2014 - 02.09.2014 but it show during the backtest only from 08.08.2014
to 02.09.2014. The news history from 01.06.2014 to 07.08.2014 is missing.

Hello I have download 20g version and Im not able to make it work, Im going to try with the 20h BETA version now.

I see that .CSV files ended in 2014, how I make to have the files that are missing?
