Gann Ribbon 10.7 System

Unless you were using Kino's original PipsToRibbons indicator on every chart, you won't really see much improvement in RAM & CPU usage by using my mod of Padnoter's indie.

The real advantage of the mod comes into play when another indi or an EA needs to know where a particular ribbon's MA's are (price-wise) in relation to other ribbons, or market price, as they can just look at the GV's instead of using iCustom calls, as each time you use iCustom, it loads the T3MA with the required parameters, T3MA does the calculations, then unloads from memory again, which can cause quite a bit of lag (this is how Padnoter's indie works anyway, but why do it with every other indie/EA as well?).
I understand your explanation.

Thanks for your decription.

Cheers, :)

Domes & Cups

padnoter » Mon May 26, 2014 6:32 pm wrote:Hi Doug,

Hope you are getting some rest after the great 3.3 manual & package you put together. Cheers.

Just been reading the manual again & looking at the charts on the thread and I realise I'm not quite clear what you mean by the dome & cup... is the dome formed by the ribbon shape, or is it formed by the price candles near a ribbon edge? :?

It's probably just me, but if you or anyone else can help out with a further explanation, I'd be grateful. Or a chart with a hand-drawn dome/cup on in the right place?? I'm really scratching my head over the examples so far.. sorry

Cheers

So in the below charts I can explain both.

Price crosses down over the white edge of the grey ribbon easily and in doing so the grey ribbon curves into a dome or arc with its fast moving edge acting as strong resistance to a retest of price. This may be because the aggressive trading traders that make up this white edge are already reacting to price and selling. These areas seem to always hold so they would make a great entry or re-entry trade because one can get in early.

The same occurs below but this time price is crossing up over the white edge of the grey ribbon and is probably the result of aggressive traders already reacting and buying. So this cup or arc holds as strong support and makes a good entry or re-entry for a trade.

Of course there has to have been a cross of a white edge over and slower crimson edge so that price will cross first over the white edge. Just an observance.

Very good question because it got me thinking more clearly about what traders are causing the change in trend and the white edge.
Cheers, :)

Hi Doug:
Thx for the latest Radar's template & indi pack.
Pls explain to me the following remark of your's ( reproduced below)
I am finding on the 5 minute that trading the blue stochastic in the direction of the red 2:1 is the best way to trade that period.

continue your contributions. great !

Eevra I should have said no counter trend trading but see the chart. Turn off the counter trend entry alarms on the 5 minute. The red 2:1 flips often enough because it is based on the 240 time period. I think little is to be gained by counter trend trading the five min period and more to be lost. Just my 2 cents

Gann Ribbon 10.7 System

Greetings,

I put the updated indicators by radar in post 1. He added x y offsets so that you can adjust the text anywhere on your display. I work on a laptop a lot but on my server it needs to be set all together differently.

It is very sensitive especially as you go up in font size. Just a few clicks is best till you get the grasp of it.

I have been trying to upload a new old stuffs bundle including all system updates through 3.2 but the internet is not cooperating so look for that when the tubes get unclogged.

I have spent the last two days trying to get to the bottom of a laptop problem but hopefully I will get it finally fixed this PM.

Cheers, :)

Nadex or Bull Spread and Binary options

Post by slowkey »

So it is the summer and I have been looking again at choices to trade forex with greater effective leverage. EURUSD has been asleep and so have many other pairs.

One very good choice is the Nadex if you live in the US and I am sure there are others choices available else where. The nice thing about Nadex is that it is an exchange and not a broker. You become a member when you join. Second it is fee based and Nadex is not in the position to trade against you. It is the only Binary Option and Bull spread choice in the US but it is a very good one.

At 50:1 margin and 10 dollars a pip it will cost you 3138 in margin to take a trade. The stop at 65 pips would be 650 dollars if hit. I take a trade on spot forex by selling EURUSD. I wish  ... That takes about a 100,000 account to do it right at 50 to 1 margin.

With the same amount of dollars ... 10 contracts in Nadex you could have a ceiling that is close to your price point of say 35 pips higher or 350 dollars . This is a skill you need to learn ... that is how to pick out spreads but let say you have purchased a position about here. That is the most you could loose. You can get out of the contract at any time and you will loose no more than 350 dollars if you are wrong but you could limit your loses or maximize your profit by an early exit. It is impossible to get stopped out and your collateral and profit potential is known up front. Even If price goes against you could wait until it possibly recovers. But no matter how high price goes above the ceiling you can loose know more than 35 pips or 350 dollars. So if you are trading a 250 daily spread you have a potential profit of 2150 dollars for 350 dollars collateral. Because you are 35 pips below the ceiling and 215 pips from the floor. You can not make any more money than the floor but how often does that happen. So I used this example to show you how effective leverage compares to a stop loss risk and 50 to 1 margin. There is no competition. So the minimal contract is 1 or 1 dollar. Move the decimal point to the right and your collateral would be 35 dollars. Your potential profit would be 215 dollars. Not a bad days work.

So trading these options requires some understanding of platforms. There is a whole set of skills needed to use the platform to your advantage but do a search for nadex on youtube and you will find their channel. There they have a boat load of video on basics, platform, and strategies. You will need to understand the basic concepts of ceiling and floors for spreads and where your entry will be related to the underlying market. You will also need to learn about volatility with binary options and the nature of the time related fixing of the settlement price. One important concept to adhere to is that with binary options take the money and run before you get down to the last 5 minutes. After that the window closes and you must settle for all or nothing. It is never good practice to let a binary expire. To much volatility. Probably want to do that in the 30 minute to 15 minute period before expiration. Watch the videos and open a demo account. Practice. If its for you it could open up a way to trade these summer doldrums.

I started a thread on this before but with ribbons, 10.7 CSS and power chart you will have a huge advantage trading options. You can trade binaries in a slow market and make real gains that you could not make trading the underlying market.

So I will be looking to get back to trading Nadex because the ribbons tell you where all the traders are and S/R. 10.7 entries can give you more than a 50 percent advantage in binary options along with significant reading of both CSS and Power chart for directional analysis. These in the end are trades based on the underlying market so I will share any trades I make with some screen shots and some looks at the nadex platform all using gann ribbons, 10.7, CSS. and power chart for intraday trading. I think in the US if you could become a proficient trader of the Nadex exchange you would have the advantage we use to have with high leverage but with much less risk.
Cheers, :)

Just an update on NADEX videos, Apexinvesting has a ton of free videos. Darrel had done some of the Nadex channel videos plus he has a ton more on his site. It is worth a free basic membership to get the free stuff. Also he has since I looked at the site a years ago made the binary and spread scanners free. These are powerful tools. He has a plugin that will let you place your order from the scanner. It is fabulous that these are free now. I thought his other stuff pricey but a basic membership that is free with the free scanners included is terrific. I am in no way connected with him but he has quality videos and the box scanners and binary scanners are just fabulous for picking out the right options. Now with the free chrome plugin it is an absolute must for trading these options. Free is free.
I can not emphasize enough how fabulous these free tools are and I just found out that they are free now from a response he gave to a question 2/2014.

Cheers, :)

So I am not going to derail my own thread  but I just want everyone to know that there are choices that can be made when the markets are quiet that that can enhance ones trading. I do not want to make light of the learning curve involved with options but it is an alternative. I will be spending a good bit of time getting my programming skills up to par for mql. I have some things in mind for the system.

Hope everybody is having a great weekend.

Cheers, :)
