P.S. The indikators are the same but the Matrix just reorganizes them in a easier format for reading the signals.
I do indeed see and likee muchee.

Not going to do anything with this tonight (just gone midnight here in the UK) but will revise the ea again in the morning, to use the combi.

Fabulous contributions Evaluator. Many thanks. If major developments in your trading are happening at FF, I have no problem with encouraging people to keep up with developments there and reporting back here for EA development - I cannot contribute meaningfully at FF because TIT has designated me a Filthy Commercial. Bear in mind, though, that the best brains in the business are here.

You can now dump the indi's modified for use with S, which now uses the indi's from E's thread. S includes a list of inputs relevant to the indis - the hidden ones are merely true/false alert inputs.

This should be ok, but sing out if bugs surface.

:D

Steve,

I thought you cleaned up the code in the individual indikators for your EA? Did I misread?

Evaluator. :geek:
The latest version works with the indi's you published so that punters can play with the inputs. You can dump my modified indi's - they are no longer used.

Hey, the level of confusion you feel right now is the same as that suffered by all my piano pupils every day of their lives. It is 'The Steve Effect', only alleviated by lots of chocolate.

Being an adult, you can cope with dealing with me through drugs or alcohol.

The kids I deal with have innocent minds, mostly, and so need gentler handling. The Official Version of chocolate therapy is Positive Reinforcement. The actual version is Bribery and Corruption. I have yet to meet a child that cannot be bribed to do better by chocolate.

I was out at a school today, rehearsing for instrumental exams - I am the piano accompanist. I am very popular; this has nothing to do with my pianistic skills and everything to do with my choc-giving skills. Cadburys Roses are the favourite.

I had finished with the last one and was dolling out the requisite therapy when a little girl wandered into the room to pick up a violin. "Hello random child" said I. "Have a choc" and proffered the Roses. Random child hesitated, clearly torn by the attraction of the box and the normal parental instruction - do not take sweets from strangers. Let's face it, they do not come much stranger than me.

The choc-temtation won.

Open the data window and hover the mouse over coloured peaks/troughs and you will see that MajorCycleBuy/Sell are the buffers that hold values - hence the variable names. When the peak is uncoloured, values are seen in MinorCycleBuy/Sell.

No worries, Steve.

You're a good man Steve, and like all of us, we have our weaknesses, hehe :D .

here are some results from one of the demos' i'm running, (see attached), there were few closed positions last night, nothing major to report about them, just that it seems when i look at the figures, that there must have been a sudden change of direction and they were closed for very small losses and wins.
what i attached are my current positions including silver and eur/jap, all the highlighted ones kiddies style, my son showed me how to do this, hahaha. They are doing well and if you look at the comments, you'll get an idea of the settings i used.

the other EA's will be coming off as i'm very comfortable so far with the results to concentrate solely on this one, and a little on the Big Bob, Spider and RIP.

these settings are as i got them from you, with big positions taken and no meddling from me. i will be closing them today if they don't close, and start with a fresh pair of settings with more realistic positions (0.01 and upto 1 full lot), and will report back.

i can't wait to get this one live, and i can promise you, i will be doing so very soon.

thank you very much again from all,
your freind,
cuzgeorge

Me again, I forgot to mention that i will be installing your new indi's and playing with the settings. i am familiar with the manual system and understand what Eval is talking about. will post settings once the testing is done.

Mediator wrote:Hello Trader,

the problem is not the repainting issues of the indicators which were provided by evaluator at Symphonie Trader System.

I trade this method manual for 2 month now. First i was impressed from the results, later then i thought this is all faked reports and was so angry that newbies could be scammed with it.
so i needed prove and asked for a myfxbook-journal, but @evaluator did not do that with the answer: "I'm not a signalservice'. I was fed up with it.

The only prove i could get was to trade it for myself. i'm not a newbie trader and my experience is now about 6 years of fulltime trading.
first i learned stochastic trading with OzFx from Melbourne, Australia (greetz to fxozgirl) and later OzFx was a scam. Not the system itself.

Later i learned countertrend trading with NanningBob. Since a half year i'm learning trendtrading and searched for a trend-system and found symphonie.
Hi Mediator, brilliant post,
this is exactly what happened to me, i wrote a long post on the Symphonie FF page about it to warn other newbies, but it was badly miss-interpreted. i wish i had written it the way you did.

Thanks for adding this, i picked up new, very good pointers and even printed your post to stick on my fore-head and next to my computer, haha.

regards and happy trading.

lhDT wrote:Hi Cuzgeorge,

Thanks for taking time coding this. I'm using Symphonie since months right now and got some nice profit. The problem, as almost all trending strategy is ranging market. If you trade using that strat during that time you will be simply short killed.
In manual, it isn't a real problem because we can easily spot it but in a EA it's a bit a challenge.
I coded a MTF Signaler (on FF thread) but also an EA for Symphonie (not using Steve's shell, I love it anyway :) ) some weeks ago and I got the latest version running since two weeks on a demo account.
You can see the results on myfxbook (links at the bottom), running on 4/5 pairs. Results are pretty impressive trough now. 89% hit rate in E/U.
That demo forward test is intended to spot the weakness of the system using a bot.

Triggers are a bit bit different than yours, I mainly use multi timeframe triggers (which cannot be backtested in Empty4).
H1 aligned + M5 triggers and some other things. I also recoded some of the indicators to make it less cpu intensive (nbrs of counted bars, etc ...).
To get rid of the whipsaw I just count the piprange of X previous bars. Example, if last 20 bars pip range is lower than 20/30pips, the EA won't trigger a trade. I finally find that method more useful than a RSI or something else.

The EA will be probably released once finished.

Cheers,
LhDT

Edit : Repainting isn't a problem because it uses multiple indicators which need to be aligned.
Hi Lionel, Hmmmm
thank you for what you said, and it is an absolute pleasure as this is a great system from Eval, and the BEST has just coded this.

I must correct you that i had nothing to do with the codeing of this. ALL credit go's to Sir Hopwood for taking the time to read through the posts and code this to Eval's spec, albeit he had to make some adjustments to the indi's to save time as he has just posted about, but i understand he is now allowing mods to his indi's also. It's great to see Eval adding to this thread as his system does work and i know you have spent a lot of time on this too. Thank you to Steve again and all who contribute, newbies and oldies!

i have been following your posts , including your zigzag EA that you posted here on Steve's forum. i have'nt had time to test it yet, but busy working on my own. i nearly got it right, but scared to ask Steve for help, cos i might get blasted for not trying enough myself, hahaha, joking guys. I'm nearly done and will post when i got good results. I'm hoping to be able to 'by-pass' those whipsaw and trending problems with a more simple approach and i would appreciate your input if you don't mind. I would hate to send it off to Steve, and then he sends me to stand behind the back of a horse.!!!

i'll pm it to you and you can let me know what you think. Should be done by late today.

i'm very impressed with your signals 1.7 for symphonie. Used 1.4 for a while, did'nt like the 'look' of 1.9beta, no diss-respect, but i really like the 'feel' of 1.7. That was really a great job and if anything kept me more in line with the symphonie system, it was your signaller. As you probably know, i blew a few accounts, but that was just me not sticking to those fricking 'rules', and over taking way too big positions for my balance.

Like you, i read in ASASA's forum to drop the 'countbars' option from 3000 to more like 300 or 400. i did this and it helped the computers a lot. i'm running all the indis that are customizable on 3-400 bars, as i have about 50 charts open on each Empty4. 4 demo accounts on each computer puts me at about 200 charts per computer and i'm running 4 comps.
They running fine, no over heating and i'm not overclocking either. Stable and cool with also 12 gigs of ram like you. I'm also trying the new emotion indi on Evals system instead of his but have'nt had time to watch the charts much. will let you know if any difference. i'm also running 4 differnet Cycle identifiers together on each chart to see the difference and which one would be more stable and repaint less. they all repaint, but which one repaints less is the one i'm looking for.

so far, i don't see much difference from the original posted indi from Steve, and the changed one that was brilliantly spotted by mbkennel. my positions are still winning, maybe some more than others, but definately winning. i cant post figures because i got butt-slammed by some big positions that i was'nt prepared to hold and anyone would have let them go anyways, it would probably have come back as i have a big demo account, but for the sake of realistic results, i cut them off. again, will post when i'm done and the results can be compared.

happy pipping and wish you the best with you new ea also,
regards
George

slowkey wrote:I have the EA now up on a clean DEMO running it on All Cowboy IBFX pairs. It immediately opened 4 positions with minimal draw down. Now this is during the Asian session so I do not expect much. I always chuckle over repainting. Like the holy grail to have that on off switch that does it all for you. Anyway I have been using a MTF Stochastic wallaby that Rob Booker developed with some unusual setting that capture both trend and match up with the extreme cycles nicely. Just smooths out on-off nature of the cycle indicator in my mind. But when you do that you clearly see that the cycle indicator has value in this system when you look at it as just one piece of the whole trading system . The extremes almost all the time match up with extreme trend reversals. With all indicators eventually triggering per rules of the system. Anybody wants the indicator can Google it and find it on Ron's Site. I hide the individual time frame stochastic's and just use the Wallaby line. It is the average of 3 time periods. On the 5 minute I look forward to higher time frames to get trend and filter out the noise.
Hi Slowkey,
thanks for the indi and info, will definately test Rob Booker's Indi.

as you, i'm running many pairs, most of them actually and also the metals, i like them a lot, but they're dangerous and repainting has killed me here as the profits and losses are magnified here tremendously.

i also don't like long TF's, but i understand they are far more stable, but hell, Asian session would put me to sleep for a week on high TF's. might as well stand behind that horse again.
i'm running all my tests on 5 min with Steve's Symphonie EA and loving the action. I am definately profitable on demo, and look foreward to getting back some of my previous losses soon.

i think one of Steve's EA's are going to get there (That Elusive Grail), Eval is adding his input and the geniuses on this forum are extra-ordinary. Learn't more here than i ever have on Forex in just a matter of a few weeks.
thanks for the tip again, and again to Steve for this remarkable, and so simple, EA. :D
