Hi,

I just wondered what happen to the Captain Jack, have not seen him around for a while?

He said his goodbyes here, as he is not trading FX any more. I guess those that know him would be in touch on another forum.

Did he go over to futures?

Interesting... his technique to me seemed to be following the market makers... now he doesn't have that... better in the longer term, but takes some learning in the shorter term.

This is my ultimate goal too.... it's just that forex is more accessibe, the indicators cheaper, the help more available. So while I don't like fiat currencies, it's a great learning ground.

How come is not trading FX anymore, did he get burned or what ? and one more thing, do you still consider his method working? (i do) but i would like to hear what you other traders think.

CJ's work here needs no defending. However, since you care so much to hear what others think about it, I will venture to say this much: With this thread, CJ turned a handful of things in forex the right way up for me, so much so that they have become the corner stones of my trading. There may be one or two things in it that need qualifying this way or that, but as a whole, I am so much the better off for having been fortunate enough to gain access to it. It is for this reason that the man has a special place in my forex hall of fame! Without a doubt, this thread is a very special one of the many gems this forum is strewn with.

I'll say this also; do not take my word for it, or indeed, any one else's. That will be like walking on crutches whilst ignoring your own healthy limbs. If you do not need to read the thread again, maybe you should just ask yourself what YOU make of it and, letting that suffice, go your merry way from there.

Some find CJ's threads particularly helpful. Personally the way it's communicated was a good starting point but I didn't quite understand it all from CJ's threads alone. What helped it all fall into place was trying to break it down into parts and then researching what each of those parts.

As far as I could tell it's mostly mostly VSA and patterns. I suggest searching for info on those. There's a lot to learn.

Many traders start off on forex as it's so accessible and then move onto regulated markets such as stocks or futures. VSA isn't really applicable on forex because volume on forex is only from your broker - it's like you're going through a proxy. That's probably why CJ went over to futures.

I would suggest to continue learning with forex until you can turn a profit and then when you have that think about moving over to regulated markets and bigger positions.
