10.9 DAILY/WEEKLY TRADES ONLY

Post by pipalong »

Hello All,

Great systems Bob! Loving them.
Greatly appreciate all that you have given and all the great coders here that made it happen!

Had a few questions.

For 10.9 daily trades you stated that we only need one indicator, that being the 10.9 STO w/alerts correct?

We wait for the lines to align on the daily and just take the trade and hold until the lines change against the trade?

Do we worry about the STO7 on the daily? (the blue skinny line)
Ive currently been dropping down to the 30M as ive read you do on occasion and entering when the STO7 on the 30M chart gives me a signal and is in alignment with the daily lines. (red/yellow/green all slammed to either the top of bottom) Ive also been using the 30M STO7 to stack trades.

Then we just hold until one line changes and goes against the trade?
Just curious if you are holding with 10.9 or profiting as you normally do 2-3 hours into the session.

Just trying to figure all these systems out, I took a couple months off after 10.6 only to come back to 10.7 10.8 10.9 and 10.10!! Great stuff!

Thank you for all your hard work!

To tell you the truth I have not been trading the daily charts that much. I usually trade the 4H chart because it matches my day. I talk about this in my philosophy of trading thread. I trade the STO7 indi with the TMA and 240 and 60 line on the 4H. On the Daily the 240 becomes the 60 on the daily. So the TMA center line is the same thing as my 240. So I would stay within the range of that TMA unless you had a strong fundamental reason to trade out side that thing. So TMA with STO7 Would probably be your best trades with a TP on the other side. If AL is around he could probably explain it much better than me OR on of these guys who trade the daily every day. If you look at the chart below. Using TMA with STO7 helps in filtering out some losing trades but you dont get as many. Using only STO7 trades would be good but some would run against you. So In trading daily charts using the 2 together is quite dynamic. That gives you one or two very solid trades a month on most currencies.

At least in the illustration I showed most of the trades happen at the end or beginning of the month.

While originally I was hoping that the white edge on AUD would hold as resistance it turned out that the crimson edge held as support and now we have a triple top on the Daily. At some point here I will need to make a second entry.

Selling the aud or nzd is kind of tough with their clearly higher interest rates. Yes you will get some retracements back but large ones probably will not happen unless some major news happens. I am very much into a buy and hold strategy with aud and nzd at this moment. Every time they dip I am buying back into the trend until there is a news story that tells me to do other wise.

China is throwing more money into the pot again so I dont see the aud or nzd doing any real major dips over teh summer.

Very valid point of view for large time period trading like you are so accomplished at doing. My trades are just some penny trades to see if I can get use to these larger time frames. If I did this with large amounts of money I would want to be careful to follow this very valid rule. Of course intraday when you are not holding trades longer than minutes to an hour or two and getting out before the swap is calculated for example at 1649 for Cowboy IBFX this is not a consideration. One should always be aware of how ones broker calculates swap because as you so well point out it adds up.

Cheers, :)

I traded this on Nadex with an out of the money butterfly during the china news and for a 4.50 risk I made 60.00. Nadex is so cool. :D
