Gertje: a hedged grid trader

This comment coming from you gives me a big smile on my face...
I also have a TP of 1,- per 0.01 lot [+/- 10 pips], and run it on 8 pairs now. Gives more or less a steady profit of 50,- a week for the last two weeks. This week has been less, due to ranging markets. The Yen though gives a good profit today.

0.01 lot per 200,- balance is the limit, bigger balance is even better.

I love this version of Gertje EA. (I have better results with this one than with G+.)
This is a grid trader, so in my opinion timing of the trade entry is not important. The market will move in a direction and it doesn't matter which way.

Just had an idea to add to the EA. Since the swap price value is positive in one direction on some pairs, (so it requires less move to achive the set dollar target in that direction) wouldn't it be beneficial to add a feature to the EA, like this one:

Have the capability to determine the size of the pip gap in each direction. So we can set the size for buy or sell. So we might have 20 pips in sell direction but only 18 in buy diection or vice versa.

I might be wrong about this. Do you think it has any merits?

I have started another Gertje EA "basket" using many currencies and .01 lots on a $10k demo account. You can see the Myfxbook charts on the first page. I'm very curious to see just how bad the drawdown can get. This looks profitable to me so far..

I found this to be very important if you want to make this profitable and don't want to get a margin call.

I used the default EA setting of 10 on all of them.

quick point: be careful running too many pairs with this / or any bot - I have a max trades of 100 in Empty4 with FXOPEN - (each OOB gertje pair can open 22 trades, I think) so now my demo platform is just beeping at me as it can't open new trades! Not sure if this is an account restriction or a platform restriction e.g. if i open 2 Empty4 platforms logged into the same account running 4 pairs on each would that work?

it would be great if somehow this bot could be altered to not run with so many open trades - i.e on trade no. x the lotsize is increased to cover all previous trades & the spreads and the previous positions are closed out - I'm not a programmer so am a bit useless here (so be gentle!)
