Scalp the Little Gits, dsu

Post by muhammadbadawi »

Hi Guys,

I have been following this system on FF for a while and the vital factor in it is the trading hours which I think it is not working appropriate in the EA and I have a trade opened out of it.
I would like that Steve and Dsu to review the code for this part in particular.

one another thing, instead of using ATR I recommend to check the ADR for pair before opening the position
if it still ranging in the middle of the ADR then we can go and take this trade.

good luck all :)

Are you using the latest version? The old version failed to delete some pendings (and thus trades) after the trading hours elapsed. I think Steve fixed this in the latest iteration, so please give it a try and report back.

My criminal's daily open is five hours after the GMT+0, which is causing the EA to miss good trading opportunities and take bad ones. I am not saying that the daily open at GMT+0 or even +3 is best, but I do believe the daily open at GMT-5 is not the level would should start off of, or at least the one that I want to use. This EA requires really good spreads, which limits our criminal selection, particularly for U.S. traders (you guys overseas are spoiled with GP). So, when you have a chance, could you (pretty please) also add an hour offset variable to control the hour of the daily open relative to the broker or computer time? Thanks as always!
I think you're right, I always consider NY close as the start of the new day, no matter what time my broker chooses to use. In my case however it doesn't matter, they're GMT +3, which means the new day starts when I want it to.

Hi Guys.
Best check out post one or you will soon know what the wrath of Steve , our brave and fearless leader, feels like.
Trading hours
These are crucial, so I have moved the inputs from their usual place to being the second of the inputs section. I have described how to use them in the user guide, but I repeat some of it here for emphasis:

you enter the trading times in your own local time. Forget criminal time, GMT offsets etc.
ds says to trade the scalper for the first two or three hours of each session - the periods when there is most activity in the markets. So, if you want to trade the first three hours of the London and New York sessions:
wait until you know the markets are just opening.
look at the time on your computer clock.
enter that time into the trading hours list.

Sorry Logs, that is not what we are talking about. We fully understand Steve's wrath (and the trading time variables). :P

You are going to need all the luck going if you ever again dare to suggest that code provided by one of the most respected code here (Baluda, trading hours) is not working properly after it has flawlessly and seamlessly for years. Don't do that again.

One of the things I cannot stand is people who are too lazy to read post one properly. Go back and read it again. Slowly, this time.
Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

A bit of eye candy in V 1i in post 1. Copied from the edited post:
Eye candy
There is an inputs section called "Eye Candy". Set ShowEyeCandy to true and the bot will draw lines on your chart that show the next floor/ceiling lines (defaulting to Magenta), 'Big numbers' (defaulting to Blue) and range high/lo (defaulting to Turquoise). High lines are dashed. Low lines are dotted. One line will disappear when two values coincide - nothing I can do about that.
You don't need the update if you do not want the eye candy.

One question: Why is it so that the EA open a buy stop AFTER the trading hour that I have set?

Bazze, what is your computer time? The trading hours work of the computer's time that Empty4 is running on, not your broker time.
