It didn't. Compare your broker time with your local time. Trading times are local times. Your broker times aren't.

Just to let you guys know that I am not ignoring pleas to be able to control your D1 candle start time.

To avoid getting into the sticky mire of gmt offsets etc (any anybody asking me to get involved with those is begging for trouble; your begging will not be ignored). Instead, I am going to provide users with a D1 candle start hour input that will use the platform's D1 chart if set to <0.

I have done the necessary code conversion for defaulting to the platform's D1 chart. I might or might not get the rest done tonight. If not, then defo in time for Monday.

I decided to do V 1j whilst the algorithm I had constructed in my head whilst driving around today was still there. Copied from my edited post 1:

Your D1 candle time start
Different brokers have different D1 candle start times, so a system based on the D1 candle open time will start by using different open prices depending on your broker.

A number of guys here are unlucky enough to be unable to open accounts with Global Prime. My heart bleeds for them, or I would not have bothered adding this complication to my life. Fact is, these poor people exist and so there is an input that allows you to specify what time to pick as your D1 open time - D1OpenHour at the end of the 'General inputs' section. The default of -1 tells the bot to use the broker's D1 candle open time and value. That is the easy bit for me, and I am not going to get involved in your hard bit.

D1OpenHour works with your broker's time - see this at the top of your chart. It is a 24 hour time thingy. You want the ea to calculate all its values from a broker's hour of 2.00 AM, you enter 2 into D1OpenHour. You want it to calculate from a broker's hour of 3.00 PM, you enter 15 into D1OpenHour.

You may decide your D1 open hour coincides with the close of the NY session, or the open of the Tokyo markets. I do not care. It is your problem to work this out. Take this next bit very seriously.

Serious warning
Early on in my career as a train-wreck-Forex-coder I started a couple of threads that required contributors to calculate the start time of something-or-other according to their broker's time. These threads were quickly dragged into a mire of morons bleating that they could not do the required calculations.

This will not happen here. Learn to tell the time, guys. Questions about this are banned. Anybody moronic enough to ignore (or as been palpably demonstrated here already, fail to read) has one chance. I will delete the post. A second posting will attract a ban from this forum and there will be no redress - I own it and am a PCA (work it out for yourselves).

The code seems to work on my demo, so I don't care what happens on yours guys. Don't bother me with the details. Do feel free to start a thread elsewhere to discuss the problems invoked by D1OpenHour. Send me a pm and I will add a link here so that new members can follow it. Just don't expect me to get involved.

Thanks Steve for the additional functions for the EA. I think the current version has all it needs to trade properly.

Any additional filtering will kill the purpose of the EA; that is to be simple straight forward robot.

Yep. It has already moved beyond the remit of a simple straight forward robot, but I have taken care to ensure that all the additional filters are easily disabled.

I only coded the D1 hour open time thingy because some members trade through brokers with ridiculously bizarre D1 candle open times and it seems a shame to disadvantage them when I (think) I can remove the disadvantage. Whether these members should be trading with such cowboys is another matter, and not one I am going to get involved in.

So, from here on testing only. Should be fun.

This EA is based on very tight spread for its survival. I know those in US are being buggered with high spread level even for EU. If the spread goes beyond 2pips, this EA will not work properly with 5 pip sl.

My spread for majors are less than 1.5pips (most of the time less than 1pip). To overcome this problem for higher spread, just increase your SL & TP accordingly by 1pip and see how it performs.

On a side note, please play around with stoch setting to false. Might get more trades for 5pips TP only during London/US session. Never do it during Asia.

Up and running guys. Absent any unforeseen bugs, looks to me like this bot is done. Thanks Steve and dsu. Oh, and anyone with issues with the trade times and D1 open time, please just PM me and I will get you straight. Whatever you do, please please don't post here. Woot woot!
