sorry steve about the dumb question - hope someone else responds before you chew me out. Unlike on ff, i do not find the available downloads except on individual posts that have to be hunted - if they are easily available, how?
My downloaded version is obviously out of sync somewhere because my test loses consistently, and i want to download the latest for another try - after downloading page 1, how should i get all the latest/greatest? go thru each page again and hope i do not miss anything?

Go to post 1. the latest update of the EA is there, along with one modified indicator and a link to Evaluator´s other indicators you need.

Guys - anyone been watching the ExtremeTMA thread on FF? It's just like this system (I.e looking for a confluence of factors before placing a trade). Perhaps there is a thing or two you can use from there? I've been trading their system for the past few weeks, awesome results!

Extreme TMA is nothing like Symphonie. First is the Indikators all repaint badly...some up to 35 bars back at a time. (or more!) Second Alorente does not use stoploss. Third the system is so bad they had to create a new section called recovery program to offset the huge flating negative carries that Extreme TMA has because you leave all orders open regardless of loss size. Fourth....from what I am told the system has been totally scrapped and rebuilt 4 times using totally new methods and indiaktors because the system has failed soo often.

That is NOTHING like Symphonie! In the 9000 posts of Symphonie NOT one thing has changed since post one...with the exception of the layout/format of the way the same indikators are used. (line versus matirx) Every piece of Symphonie has remained the same and only addons have been added in effort to improve and only after they were extensivley tested and proved their worth. Even then the core of post#1 has remained the same and NEVER changed.

Symphonie is a focal point of 4 indiaktors which have a max repaint of maybe 10 bars and that is only the extreme indikator that is forward looking an zigzag based.(also sometimes Sentiment) Second, Symphonie utilizes a stoploss ALWAYS and is totally focued on account balance protection with a dynamic stoploss and also uses ARS to make sure one operates with minimal exposure to protect against margin call. There is nothing in the Symphonie System structure that can blow your account on one trade....!

Extreme TMA does none of that!

If you read the Symhonie Thread you will see that Alorente tried to push is program from within the Symphonie Thread and I politely told him to take is plan elsewhere because his method was NOT Symphonie and promotng leveraging accounts way too high, no stoploss, and the indiaktors he was using were unreliable and had no grounding that kept with price action trend.

I see no value in his method and if you read extrenally of his thread there are people loosing largely on that method. I tried his method once he started his new thread and he provided a complete plan and the absolute BEST results I had was a 30% win to 70% loss. I see no value in the indikators he is using and highly recommend NOT using any of these indikators in building a Symphonie EA because simply it is not Symphonie.

Latest update in post 1:

• - I realised that I had not coded closure by Extreme spike properly. I have added code to ensure that the spike must be at least 4 candles back before closure happens. I am not sure yet whether this should be exactly 4 candles and have coded it this way to take care of server disconnections, computer exploding, meteor strike etc.
  - I realised that the code was checking for trading conditions on the lower time frame before the higher. Using 60-5, this meant that at the change of the H1 candle, S was using out-of-date indi values. I have rearranged the code.

Coders, especially mathematicians, please look at my ARS cod at the end of CountOpenTrades(). I could not grasp an internal function that would achieve reducing, say, an account with a balance of $4376.59 down to $4000. I hand-stitched the code using some string conversions then back. If anyone can come up with something more pithy, that would be nice. It doesn't matter as such; I just enjoy learning these things.

There may be bugs. Hell, I am the coder so there are probably vast armadas of the things hatching out even as I type.

If you want to round $4376 to $4000, or $56,321 to $50,000, or $876 to $800, you want to use a log.

We need log10, but MQL only does natural log (base e). LogN(x) = ln(x)/ln(N), or MathLog(x)/MathLog(N) in MQL.

Log10($4376.59) = 3.64. MathFloor(3.64) = 3, which tells you 10^3 is the right order of magnitude. Divide $4376.59 by 10^3 to get the "multiplier," 4.38, and MathFloor of that gives you 4.

So:

Acct = 4376.59;
Log10 = MathLog(Acct) / MathLog(10); // Log10 of account value; 4376.59 -> 3.64
Magnitude = MathFloor(Log10); // 4376.59 -> 3, since 1000 = 10^3 is the closest lower order of magnitude
BaseMag = MathPow(10, Magnitude); // 4376.59 -> 1000
Mult = Acct / BaseMag; // 4376.59 -> 4.37659
RoundDown = MathFloor(Mult) * BaseMag; // 4376.59 -> 4000

...or, more succinctly:

BaseMag = MathPow(10, MathFloor(MathLog(Acct) / MathLog(10))); // 4376.59 -> 1000
RoundDown = MathFloor(Acct / BaseMag) * BaseMag;

...or if you prefer incomprehensible one-liners (NOT recommended!!):

RoundDown = MathFloor(Acct / MathPow(10, (MathFloor(MathLog(Acct) / MathLog(10))))) * MathPow(10, (MathFloor(MathLog(Acct) / MathLog(10))));

Anybody watching their logs will have noticed the 'Unknown subwindow'error' generated by Sentiment.

I would use integer division i.e. cast account balance to int and then divide by 1000 and multiply it back.

So starting with 4376.59:

double balance = 4376.59;

int balanceAsInt = balance; // now balanceAsInt should contain 4376.
int roundedBalance = ( balanceAsInt / 1000 ) * 1000; // balanceAsInt / 1000 will be 4. Multiplied by 1000 will be 4000.

This should do the trick. You could also take the mod 1000 of balance and subtract it from balance (i.e. balance - ( balance % 1000) ) but I think integer division is a nicer solution.

One problem is what will the lotsize be if account balance is less than 1000.

Fantastic. It is the "int roundedBalance = ( balanceAsInt / 1000 ) * 1000; // balanceAsInt / 1000 will be 4. Multiplied by 1000 will be 4000." equivalent bit that I could not work out. Thick as a plank, or what?
