TrendTrading EA

Post by Radar »

Evening, folks,

New versions of the TT EA, (Original method (now v1.231), and R-Version method (now v1.25R)) to correct a typo, and revert to Khalaad's original NewBar test.

Also added alerts to the RedZoneRangeLINES indicator.

Updates will no longer be posted in the first post, so I will have links to any updates in my signature from now on.

Have fun!

[quote="Khalaad » Sun May 18, 2014 3:39 pm"]SERIOUS WARNINGS

The red zone line is used to trigger a trade opportunity. When the close crosses above, or below, the red zone line, a buy trade set up is in place.

To confirm that there is enough buying, or selling, pressure to justify a trade, second step is the volume oscillator; translated – I hope correctly -- from the EasyLanguage Volume Oscillator. The EA takes moving average of N periods of the oscillator to confirm a trade.

Khalid,

Just to confirm, does the Green bottom Line is used for a sell trade set up? That is when the close crosses above, or below, the green zone line, a sell trade set up is in place.

Thank you,

Haggadah

Sorry for the delay in replying... I've had my head stuck in another EA lately.

I think you're getting the two indicators confused...

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
RedZoneLINE.mq4 is the indicator for Khalaad's original EA... It takes the highest high from the past x bars, adds the lowest low from the past x bars, then halves the result to give you the trade entry price line. That's half the signal... The other half comes from the VolOsc indicator....

For Buys:
Entry:
1) Bar must open below the RedZoneLine, and close above.
2) VolOsc must be above 0.
Exit:
Price hits your stoploss.

For Sells:
Entry:
1) Bar must open above RedZoneLine, and close below.
2) VolOsc must be below 0.
Exit:
Price hits your stoploss.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

RedZoneRangeLines.mq4 is my variation on the original, (EA's with R in the version number uses this). The idea was to get into the trades earlier, and to get back out of them early on reversals.

It works like this...
* Subtracts Lowest Low from Highest High to get the range...
* Multiplies the range by RangeEntryPercent to get EELine (Entry/Exit Line) pips.
* Adds EELine pips to Lowest Low to create the Buy Entry / Sell Exit line (Green).
* Subtracts EELine pips from Highest High to create Sell Entry / Buy Exit line (Red).
We use VolOsc to confirm that there's enough volume in the correct direction to take the trade.

So, for Buys:
Entry:
1) Bar must open below Buy Entry / Sell Exit line (Green), and close above it.
2) VolOsc must be above 0.
Exit:
Price hits your preferred stoploss.

For Sells:
Entry:
1) Bar must open above Sell Entry /Buy Exit line (Red), and close below it.
2) VolOsc must be below 0.
Exit:
Price hits your preferred stoploss.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Hope that clears things up for you ;)

Have fun!

Radar,

Thank you. I appreciated it. It helps for my manual trading. I discover this thread a few days ago only to find out that Khalid may not be coming back to this forum. For whatever reasons, he needs our prayers for a good health and long life.

Radar,

Here is the RedZoneRangeLines indicator pic of your variation and at the middle line Khalid's original indicator. I am getting used to it in my manual trades. Instead of Market price, I used the pending orders (straddle) several pips away from price. Just delete the other one when the other side get activated.

Thank you,

Haggadah

Looks good, Haggadah :)

I've had the same thing sitting in my demo for weeks, and only just realized we could trade from outer lines to inner line, and back again...

Looks like I've got some work to do, after I've gotten my current project stabilized :)

Have fun!
