Out of curiosity does anyone have a copy of the lot series Joseph Nemeth uses? I believe it goes something like: 1.0, 1.4', 1.0, 1.4, 1.9 .... That's as far as I have.
Just testing a whole range of lot size series.
The dream is real ...

Hi,

You really ought to flip through the last few pages of this discussion and take note especially of Dewey's post.
Latest ALR version is 2.0 and lot sizes are significantly smaller than the original ALR concept.
Less risk and less margin requirements.

Cheers

hI TheInsider,

thanks for the update... may i ask some clarifications from you...

1. in wealthmaster's ALR input parameter it says:
XYZ: Is the amount in USD that you want to make in worst case scenario i.e. after going into ALR mode.
in your ALR Calculator Excel it says: Profit is in pips... (i understand you changed "XYZ" into "Profit" as default input parameter in your modded ALR)... can you please clarify this if it is really in pips or in USD?

2.
Here's an updated version of my ALR-Calculator.

- Missed to include Commission for BUY's (only have impact if you include Commission)
- Rounded decimals to 2 in column D, F and G (Have impact on all calculations).
do you have this input parameter in your modded ALR? i did not see this in your modded ALR EA....

super thanks...

been trying ALR2 and modded ALR by TheInsider... for ALR2, both my trials went to profit, so it was not able to engage... in one of my modded ALR's trials, the second buy stop order of the series did not execute because of a gap in the GBPJPY (its pending buy stop price was in the gap).... it just stayed there so i removed the EA from the chart... just made me wonder what to do when this happens "live"... glad there's a calculator to do it manual... but the gap changed the whole ALR setup... any thought of other solution to this when faced with a gap?

HI,

Have to confess...the current setup could be killed by a gap.
It would take some processing to see how to overcome a gap....
in general...pray for no gap.

Cheers

Hi. I've read through all threads and all posts relating to ALR several times - forwards and backwards. Wanted to do a side by side comparison of the original sizes as postulated by Dustin and Joseph, both sets of figures from Gary, the final lot sizes we have here and customised figures I'm looking at. Dewey has done an excellent job of showing profit, loss on final turn and overall percentage risk. Didn't have Joseph's figures in full so it didn't seem too unreasonable a request in the context of my enquiry.

If anyone does have Joseph's figures would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Naming it "XYZ" does not make sense. I renamed it to "Profit", which is what it is - amount in profit that is added to the breakeven. In any case it's in amount (USD)

I only have it in the Excel-file but have not updated the modded version of ALR EA here. Instead I have rewritten the ALR manager from scratch and added lots of options, incl. compensation for costs (commission and swap), option for backtesting and forward testing on specific dates/times, different kind of trailng (static pips, percentage, fractal, etc) of initial order #0 (to prevent ALR to start, which must be the goal; ALR is management of open negative position), nice graphic presentation, etc. And am developing it further - using dynamic SL and TP, management of baskets of open trades, etc.

I believe I understand what the problem is and how it should be fixed. But can you please share the statements, incl. date and time (and time zone or broker) for the trades?

Wow!!! Sounds really awesome. Looking forward to your version.
