Trading 10.7 15M and below

Thanks Doug for the thoughtful and useful reply.

I am totally with you on the comments on the use of indicators in low volatility periods, and yes we have seen the extreme end of that in recent times. I used CSS alot about a year ago with H4 trading NB systems and I get the potential of this indicator, interesting going back to using it again in current context and on the lower timeframes which I haven't done before.

I am working on some new variations of trading rules adapting my trading styles, both M5 and H4 to the new indicators. Perhaps with a bit more testing I will come back and share what I find. And some trade examples of course, but bottom line these tools and the NB 10.xxx systems really open some doors to trading. I love the way the new stoch indicator is doing the multi-timeframe analysis for you creating the context for the current timeframe overbought oversold, trending, ranging etc. At a glance now all my trades are immediately categorised into:

1)simple retrace trending PA trading back to trend, (day and week fast stoch together)
2)Ranging move away from week trend, (day fast stoch opposite to week)
3)Ranging move toward week trend, (day fast stoch opposite to week)
4)trend continuation strong signal (day and PA reverting to week trend)
5)Trend Reversal (day and week flip)

Of these trades the 1) & 4) trend continuation trades are great signals. Entry on the 70 or 30 is pretty high percentage. Identifying when PA is going to range versus return to trending is oh so valuable and these signals do a good job of that. Other things I use are TMA band breaches and now you have me looking at volume again which I have also used in the past but had pulled away from. Certainly does help at times. Watching and learning with the Gann bands Doug good to bring this to the surface in this context.

One focus at the moment I am working with is to take the prime signals from the H1 timeframe and then going down and trading them on M5 with higher lot sizes & tighter money management. Interestingly some of those signals of trend continuation recently on the H1 are coming through in the Asian session and run stronger into London. This is classic 10.5 scalp scenario where week trend is tested with early move above DO failing and then PA drops and continues week trend direction through the day. The point here is that the strong H1 stoch signal is saying this trade is for real rather than the noise and head fakes that make up the day on the M5. Promising..................

Thanks again Doug.................and of course the others of the brains trust here........

I'll have a squizz at them, and modify them to work with the GV's that T3MA_ribbon_multi_with_gvs.mq4 creates, (gotta save CPU cycles and RAM somehow) ;)
I finally got to look at those indicators today (Sun, 3rd Aug, 2014), and have adapted Kino_Monitor_v3 to use the GlobalVariables that T3MA_ribbon_multi_with_gvs.mq4 creates.

There's a couple of problems with the formatting of the pips to ribbons (well, points to ribbons, actualy) in Kino_Monitor_v3_via_gvs at the moment...

1) If you put it on an M1 chart, it shows the M5 before the M1.

2) On charts from M30 up, the column and row shift needs cleaning up... It's still easy to read, but I'd rather maintain a standard format across all timeframes.

I have also modified T3MA_ribbon_multi_with_gvs so that each ribbon keeps its own colour when you change the chart timeframe. There is a slight drift of a few points when you change the chart timeframe, (probably need to modify the factors slightly, depending on the timeframe, but it will take someone better at crunching numbers than I am to get it done). I also plan to add the Monthly ribbon some time down the track.

Have fun!

Thanks Radar and I will take a look. I have been suffering through a miserable bronchitis and so have not been on the site much the last few weeks. Hopefully the antibiotic will take hold soon. As always appreciate every thing you do.

I did an update of Gann 10.7 to version 4.0 with Radars very nice update of the ribbon file and keno indicators. See post one for the zip file. You still need 3.3 for the manual, CSS and other files so it remains in post one. You can see my explanation of files in post 1 of my main 10.7 thread.

Cheers, :)

Hey Doug,

Here's an update to the modified Kino Monitor...

It now shows the distance from Price to Ribbons in Pips, to one decimal point.

Have fun!

I just updated post one in my Gann Ribbon 10.7 System thread to Gann 10.7 version 4.a with the new v2 kino monitor by Radar which now has 1 decimal point accuracy for pips to ribbons.

Indicator added to indicator folder and templates now have been changed to show the new indicator.
Thanks Radar for your fast work.

Cheers, :)

Made a slight update to the manual to clarify new indicators and system. See post one of Gann Ribbon 10.7 System for the manual.

Cheers, :)

My VSA skills are weak at best, and there are just too many places on the net to go to get educated on it. Can you direct me to one that works well with the version listed here? I need to get busy studying. Thanks.

Ignore, I see from the manual to watch Emini vids.
