I think some traders change residency just to be able to trade especially those who make a living of forex trading, the problem now is not only with US residents but even Canadian residents are pressured. I an from south east asia and trade with hotforex(off shore broker) and some traders I know were a bit frustrated! going with a broker that doesnt comply with the restrictions is a bit risky.

Yes, please elaborate. I am constantly looking for decent brokers that accept US residents. More and more, I am leaning at setting up an off shore company and trading through that entity and then paying myself as an employee or consultant. Its all legal and does not really hide anything, but there are more regulations to comply with. Most brokers I have spoken to will open accounts for a foreign company or trust that is owned by a US residents -- doing so seriously expands one's options (trading of metals, working through PAMMs, etc.). Has anyone here actually done this?
