Hi my friends,

remember this song:
You can't win, you can't break even
And you can't get out of the game
People keep sayin' things are gonna change
But they look us like, you're stayin' the same

You can't win, the world keeps movin'
And you're standin' far behind
People keep sayin', things'll get better
(Just to ease your state of mind)
(So you lean back, and you smoke that smoke)
(And you drink your glass of wine)

You can't win, you can't win no way
If your story stays the same, no, no
(You ain't winnin')
(But it's nice to see you)
(I'm awfully glad you came)
(Better cool it 'cause it ain't about losing')

You can't win, you can't break even
Ain't the way it's supposed to be, no, no
(You'll be spendin')
(Your little bit of money)

While someone else rides for free, ooh
(Learn your lesson)
(Refuel your mind)
(Before someone blows out your flame)

I must say that I think I have some winner EAs: the ones that are in my live account. But can you guess how many hours, backtests and forward tests I have been conducting before they have been profitable ?

I assure you that Magic Greta is going to be profitable. And more profitable that my live account because it has stacking. For me, stacking, if well used is the best weapon of a trader. And also is going to be fully automatic.

A smart trader said that you only need a winner EA to be millionaire. I want to have two.

CuzGeorge is my friend, and also a very good trader, but noone can compare to the virtues of automatic EAs. We all need to sleep. But I assure you that there is not anything as grateful as that you wake up, and your EA has won you 2% or more during the night.

This is not the case now with Magic Greta, but I assure you that soon will be.

Hi JL, AGT,all,

yes i agree 100% that JL has some winning EA's, but i dont think i'm such a good trader, :lol: :lol: , too many blown live accounts.
I havent got a favourite at the moment, but i am leaning on JL's v8 version of 13k. Just watching how she handles the SL feature until i transfer over fully.

Today, i checked my manual positions and something rang a bell when i met up with Jeremy. He said ' cut the damn losers damnit " when he saw some of my live accounts. Well, i did so this morning on some of the manual trades for xmeter. I would never have said the EU would hit 1.38 as it did this morning. Most my manual trades are sellers on EU and GU.

Ive blown a demo on Crossfader 4D version which was a mix of the first XMeter /Crossfader with Gettings set file. A demo i wanted to attempt with a few small changes on my side. Did'nt work for two reasons, too many trades, and my manual trades also were wrong with lot size too big. Too confident when i placed those trades. so i think i'm going to hang up that one and only concentrate on JL's version of the xmeter/crossfader mix. I still dont get-it so well with Crossafder so more experience trading it is definately needed for me.

My xmeters are all doing really good. I am slowly building up the DD though but waiting for a trend change and xmeter is taking recovery trades in the meantime. Watching the v8 version to see when that one jumps in as this is surely going to be the most accurate. The version of v8 seems to be 13k with the new direction code JL coded to allow for choice of pairs requested in his thread. Thank you again to JL. A few of the older ones (pre-JL's entry in Fates old thread) are still trading very well but only with serious control on size, pairs, and manual trading, which is sometimes the majority of the trades on the charts, but xmeter handles all TP's and SL's until closing.
My only advice that stands with xmeter is to keep to a minimum of pairs (2 or 4), small lot sizes and 0.01 to 5k, and they WILL make money long term. Fully Automatic. Its me that overdoes the positions manually that have blown my live accts. The most important i think is to keep watching news events and if currency manipulation is at play, we must either close those pairs or hedge them. I'm talking AUD and JPY recently and this applies to all EA's if they have taken the wrong direction. EA's cannot read news but should react accordingly when markets trend. Problem is we were probably in a series before the news event took affect and sit with them waiting for the markets to turn like i am now. :(

I gave up on Ichimoku after slow growth and my changes did not help either.FxDaytrader is making a nice attempt there but for some reason i had massive log files building up in my virtual folders. Cant see why that was happening so leaving this for a while.

TCO is doing nicely, albeit a little slow. Going to keep at it there.

JL's 'flavours' are now done, and my last one left was pygmalion. Its about to blow from some dumb manual trades i tried to recover with, so dropping those for the sake of concentrating on just a few. There are plenty very good demos now by other users, so happy to follow some of their demos on interesting EA's.

Mr Long's 10.4 is still visually a very nice EA to messaround with. Still a very slow gainer but not losing so using it more like an indi, but not giving up there for sure. Getting more used to the code and its workings as we go along and experience grows.

Marilyn is also in the mix with gold from Milanese effort. Very slow to trade since i set up with only one loss on gold traded so far. No other positions taken. I havent set this one up on demo yet as i'm running it in a combo with xmeter and BigMac just to see. Will comment when i have some usefull info about this test.

BigMac is slow to pick up after its DD built up but i have every faith in Bunker and Renexxxx. WIll definately have a few demos for this one when released.

Zerg EA is the only new addition lately sent by FXTrucker, (thank you). There were no trades for a while so i took a buy and sell manually to see what happens. Markets are very slow for AUDNZD lately, so just watching what happens there in the mean time. Magic at 0 and it has picked up showing my grid size change on the chart with a max of 0.02 on 5k acct and max of 20 orders as per my revised set file.

Thats all i can think of, and see on the current EA's list, so off to update some of the recent events.
Hope everyone is gaining weight over the xmas period so i dont feel alone, and wish you all the very best for 2014. :party:

Thanks Phill and Tomasso,
i hope these demos are usefull to others. I follow other traders' demos and helps to get a better idea from seeing and reading your threads.
A big thanks to both of you for all your time and ideas here.

I'm holding on to the losses i can afford to hold onto for a while. I'm hoping the new year will bring in a clear direction for manual traders and hopefully we can kill some of that DD. Very low volumes, agreed, just worried that holiday trading periods are best left alone, although this year was a much better trading year-end than my previous ones. 8-)
Got one buy from the gold Marylin setup , all reads and analysts i follow are showing drops for gold, with very few die-hards holding on to buys. I'm going to leave Marylin completely alone and see how she fares. She has her own magic number so not messing with her. EDIT The bottom cant be too far away at these levels.

Regards and thanks again,
cuz

Hi all, :D
a catch-up here on some of the terminals as i update them. Didnt get much done today, but here go's with the few changes and observations.

Firstly i cant keep up with Gettings demo on the Full Monty mix from JL from here in the Flavours thread of JL's; http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 756#p83756

and getting's demos;

http://www.myfxbook.com/members/getting

I am going back to v3 of the KAGI Full Monty mix because v4 seems to close positions very early, and most of the times, i dont cover the fees from GP broker for positions. I have posted in its thread with a pic and the way forward from now.
1Hr chart only on EU and same settings as posted by JL's rar except for magic=0 and 1%risk. Running a demo on GP and ava.
http://www.myfxbook.com/members/Cuzgeor ... -v3/780459

http://www.myfxbook.com/members/Cuzgeor ... 133/780445

Then TCO v1.6, was not winning the way it's supposed to.For those who didnt follow the TCO thread, I had changed the EA code to look at 15M TF instead of the 1HR. Using only EU charts with 5 different approaches. I'm sticking to the change with new set file a few lines below;
The 4 methods showed these results over a steady 3 month period,
Ichimoku, 9 wins, 6 losers, but overall loss from high SL's being hit.
MA 20/50 had no trades over the 3 month period.
MACD had 13 wins and 12 losses, but again, big SL hits meant negative result.
and Turtle gave me 10 wins and 7 losses.
This is the demo i used;
http://www.myfxbook.com/members/Cuzgeor ... ual/780494
with a set file like this one but adjusted for each method;
tco turtle 1.set
Its not so great so going to change the following in each chart and see what happens;
The lower TF signal method will be 1 for Williams%, going to use ATR for SL and TP, Jump Stops increased to 32 pips, and MACD methods going to use traditional. Those are the changes to the above set file that didnt work out.
I'm following developments for this EA using Bobs 10.6 and not jumping in yet. I bumped TCO in FF once and happy to see him here with his EA. So many options and ways to tweak this one, it would be great to hear from others if they have managed to get a successfull set going.

new set file example;
tco new turtle set for example.set
I gave up on Baluda's Ichimoku and Steves Ziggy. COuldnt get them to run with the profits. Stopped a while back but would also be good to hear from others if they had success there. Steve and Paul i'm sure would be happy to look at the code again if changes needed.

As for JL's flavours, Pygmalion was the last one and it blew recently. I have finished with those as mentioned before but trying out the KAGI Full Monty now.

A new set up is running Andy's 10.4 multitrader, with xM NSNA v3 , and then mixed up with MArylin also. HAHAHA, Steves going to kill me. :cry: Very interesting to see them trade alongside each other. Its an experiment to see how they all trade with each other and coupled with manual trades. i Need to look at Marylin as im not getting trades there except for Gold. Using Milanese's 40Cset file and had one win and one loss so far. NSNA is trading the most and multi has yet to trade. Might be settings i need to adjust there. Only trading select pair, 4 for xmeter and 6 for 10.4. Main ones and gold for Marylin.
Throwing in manual trades when news shows me a direction;
http://www.myfxbook.com/members/Cuzgeor ... -xm/795281

For Marylin i'm using Milanese's version 40C from page 123. I'm also following Frank, Nubika and the rest of the guys there. Very promising work in Phills thread.
I ve also downloaded the new ProTrader and messing around with that to see for myself what the fuss is about. i must say my Empty4 experience is completely over-powering my sense of learning something new. Its hard to look at something new, but trying with Marylin as we might have a winner in ProTrader, we shall see.

Now, xmeter is definately waking up in a huge way. Waiting to see how Jl does in his demos and how this all works out.
As for the variants, i can safely say that all the " Protect" versions are getting their recovery positions taken out by SL way too early. This is therefore not allowing xmeter to recover enough to close the series, and the DD just gets bigger and bigger. The only time they are closing is when we get a real quick burst in the favourable direction. SHort pull-backs are not good enough to close these losing series trades. Any xmeter that is closing too many trades too quickly, i'm stopping.
Ovisun has mentioned that he is looking at the coral version. The only one that makes sense is the v10 that AGT is still testing. What i remember about Coral was that LonelyTrader who asked for Coral, found that xmeter would enter in-correctly based ont he Coral indi. I'm not sure if this was only the initial trade, or subsequent recovery trades.
My experience with Coral was that when the higher L levels would kick in, then xmeter at some point would take a very very large recovery trade that wasnt according to the settings. This would sometimes, work, but in my case it blew an account, so i dropped it. It was similar to the leglac version that did the same thing.

Now, NonLinear is kicking it with his demo here;
http://www.myfxbook.com/members/nonline ... 13k/531076

This is what i'm also finding with my 13k's. I am however interfering as ive mentioned numerous times in my posts.
I'm going to sift throught he demos and come back with a few instead of a whole lot in my next post. Ive promised AGT some more info and need to evaluate with some more time before posting. I think its time to consolidate and start dropping some of the older ones also.
JL always said that all the xmeters can be profitable provided one watches them and trades them correctly. This has taken me two years to find out for myself. Its the elusive set-and-forget one that hasnt popped up yet. I dont think we'll ever get that guys, too many variables in the markets at any given time.

What ive stopped already are the older successfull Speed v5, NoLimits v3.4 and FP9 that i posted about on page 13 at the bottom here. They are winners without any intervention although they were run on old, large account demos. Thats all i had available those days.
I'm also keeping Fury version, the cuzbot, and the EA run by Marcelo which i think was version 2.1.2 from the old thread. These old xmeters are dangerous but coupled with sensible, rare manual trades when its too damn obvious, are very profitable and successfull. These are only for those who know how xmeter trades and are not scared to jump in for a good fight. They are not set and forget EA's and are probably the most dangerous xmeters, but also most profitable. These EA's are also posted in this thread with set files, but understand them and make your own assumptions, otherwise you're not ready to trade them.

Im leaning more towards the FP9 with Cover and JL's latest xmeter Greta v8, based on 13k, but more after ive checked everything.

==================================================
I also picked up something very interesting posted by SH ; Mentioned by Bourgenot in VM's crossfader thread and also by STeveT in the 10.4 A complete system thread, and housed by us here;
http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... XNewsAlert
Heres the file if anyone wants it as i got it;
FXNewsAlert.zip
set up and working through it. I am VERY much a news-trader and the idea has caught my attention. If anyone cares to check it out and drop us a line or two on their experiences. I like it myself, but only a week with the tool and looking to spend more time to understand it. Would like to know if someone has found it useless so we dont waste out time on it though. Doesnt seem to slow the PC down at all although it look very involved. I'm running it all the time and looking to understand it more.

Hope you all had a restfull break, and huge new year party. Good luck to all for 2014.
cuz
