Hey all,

Trying to get up to speed on 10.2 & 10.2a. Got everything loaded but I seem to be having problems with the WHO. Isn't it supposed to reset to 0 at the beginning of every week. It appears to be mirroring (almost) the green/gold 2x1?

Am I doing something totally wrong?

Bob's indicators only work with GMT+0 crims, or at least crims that have Sunday D1 bars. Replace his indicators with the fixed ones here: http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 486#p13486

Bob, could we put the fixed indicators in your source posts so people don't keep running into this?

Another issue I have mentioned on other threads & discussed with Steve is the Pts vs pips.
When you first released 10.2 pivot indis, pivots levels were all factored by 10000 which meant they were useless on all JPY, XAG & XAU pairs. Later releases have the 'multiplier' factor which again is a sometimes fix. The difference from price to pivot on shown as Pts (but is usually pips - 1/ 100 cent).
To test the accuracy of any system/indi I suggest drag onto EURUSD, EURJPY & XAUUSD.
Yesterday, on gold there was a difference Price to 10.2_WeeklyMainPivot of 150000 pts!! Which means "multiplier" is really a fiddle factor not a universal calculation.
Could I strongly suggest converting all indis to the Pipfactor system now partly implemented in MPTM. I realise this is an ongoing challenge as so many codebytes are written using the wrong ended application of MarketInfo (..);
eg SH EAs written using MaxSpread vs. MarketInfo("EURUSD",MODE_SPREAD); are inconsistent as MaxSpread must be expressed in points but all other declarations are pips.
Hence BE default - 25pips, MaxSpread default - 120, which of course is totally ineffective in 4 digit systems.
Using Pfactor,
spread = (Ask-Bid) * Pipfactor; [ or factor in MPTM]
is accurate across all pairs and timeframes.

Further to my comment above it would be easier in 10.2 Pivots (6.1->) to simply change multiplier section to :

multiplier = 10000;
if(StringFind(Symbol(),"JPY", 0) !=-1 || StringFind(Symbol(),"XAG",0) !=-1 ) multiplier = 100;
if(StringFind(Symbol(),"XAU",0) !=-1) multiplier = 10;

which is as effective.
I am aware many here do not trade XAU, XAG but they can be more exciting than currencies, so why not make Indi's correct across them?
The first thing I do when seeing value in any indicator/EA is convert to true pips.
In original 10.2 Pivots, after fixing to pips, I also reduced prefixes to 2-3 letters and added actual price value to each Pivot/SupRes line, making it easier to check entry, TP levels.

Hi all,

Just joining in here. New to Bob's strategies [I know! Where HAVE I been!!??].

Reading through the material and setting up my charts.

I'm going to start by keeping it simple and just taking the SRF trades - where price fails to make it to a S/R level and then reverses back through the pivot. Would that be a sensible way to start? Until I get a handle on the whole thing?

So much to learn!!! :lol: :lol:
