how to uninstall various instances of Empty4

Hi All.

Now that I am busy opening my GP account in the wake of the SNB decision that caused so many brokers to crash and burn, I am trying to uninstall various instances of Empty4 on my computer.

Some I have been able to uninstall, and others I get the error message that I do not have the necessary permissions to do so and that I should contact my administrator...

Well, sorry to break it to you, but these apps are on my personal computer and I was not aware that there was an admin functionality...can anyone advise how to uninstall these other brokers platforms, or is it not that easy?

I will be interested to read possible solutions to this. I find the only way to delete a platform is to delete the parent folder and use one of the many file management utilities available to fix the broken links in the registry.

Hi HannesJoubert,

I cannot help you for the uninstallation part, but I can help for the future organization of your files.

Here I only have 1 MTCrap instance installed through the exe installer, and then I duplicate this instance by copying the files into new MTCrap directories. Then I just have to create a new shortcut to open this instances.

I have to specify that I am using the portable mode of MTCrap to open this instances and that I always keep a clean version of one instance so as to be ready to install a new instance.

It makes it easier for me to backup files as I just have to copy the MTCrap directories to another location (e.g: usb key).

PS: I already used Steve’s solution in the past.
