I'm thinking of adding a news filter to forex robot:

I was just wondering if any of you have any code which I can, well, nick.

If not, the itention is to base it on the code in FFCal.

This is not an indi I have used before so if anyone has any experience with it and can comment on it's reliability I'd be very grateful.

There were a few that used FFCal. Try the Fratelli EA, coded by magft. Search for NewsHandling().

Just so you know, DC. We tried to use FFCal a few years ago when scoobs first burst onto the scene at FF, and I coded the BOJ intervention bot. Subsequent bots owed a lot to Scoobs' invaluable help and FFCal was coded into most of them.

FFCal itself appears to work fine. The problem is with the FF news calender. Back then, it would miss some major news items altogether. Often, it would hopelessly mis-classify them,rendering FFCal useless.

That is before you remember that FF usually shuts up shop altogether just before what it classifies as a major news release.

So, whilst FFCal itself is ok, the info it works with is rubbish, so this negates the value of FFCal. Besides, even NFP barely raises a blip these days, so why bother? The panic about new releases is overdone these days. This might change, but for now they can mostly be ignored.

Just my 2 cents worth, having been down this road already. Just trying to save you some wasted effort.
