BALUDA'S SUPER CSS-2.0. THE SIMPLEST TRADING SYSTEM EVER

General "puzzled" question. Chart shows BOTH versions of my downloaded CSS, and I got the super from Gary.Baluda Super CSS expecting to see it was v.1.4

As you can see it says that the version is v.2.4 and not 1.4 Guidance whenever one has the time as I am a bear with very little brain.(which helps when trading).

And isn't the whole of the SHF quite remarkable.

Another option is a tool I found somewhere, just click to change the chart, doesn't take much to scan for the daily setups.

I'm sure someone here could program this quickly if there was interest.

Hi Zennor

Thanks for sharing. Have you hit your target everyday so far? Also once you have calculated your lot size for each pair do you put it into your EAs settings or are you deleting your SL manually for every trade?

I am happy to do some forward testing and compare results

Cheers

Keith
Hi Keith,

Yes have hit my target every day with very little draw down, after Wednesday I was getting a bit worried at how easily I was hitting my targets and wanted to wait for a troublesome day where the markets went pretty much sideways to see how well it faired. Thursday was that day, markets on the London open pretty much just went sideways for a fair while but eventually 2 GBP pairs took off and took care of all the whip sawing pairs and my basket TP was hit with just over 3% DD, on average I would say you could expect a daily DD of between 1-4% SO FAR. I cannot over emphasize enough that this is very early days and I'm pretty sure a WTF day is waiting for us somewhere.

Having said that you will normally be out of the markets before the US open, sideways markets with whipsaws lock in pretty small losses, any major move over a period of time ie a few hours will have you sat with a lot of trades in the direction of the move and will take care of the locked in losses. On Friday there was a major move AGAINST my four sell trades on the EURCAD, I had no buy trades when the 11:00 Candle sky rocketed upwards YET because I was basket trading the CSS indicator had me in enough GOOD trades to not only negate these mounting losses but I also hit my TP on this candle.. That is the beauty of this idea.. SO FAR

A possible ouch moment?

Not when you have a plethora of these in the bank and I had a fair few...

Yes to your second question, I set 2 x 20 day ATR into the EA which calculates my lot size and allows me to place manual trades by one button and mouse click which allows me to place all my trades fairly quickly without price moving too much. I just press the B=Buy or S=Sell button on my keyboard, a screen appears and I place a market trade with one click of the mouse button. But believe me you can just download a Lot size calculator from FF forum and use that.

Hope that answers your question..

Just a question on the number of arrows / trades depicted - wouldn't the bar or candle have to close first, and then the trade placed at the open of the next bar / candle?

So the first arrow would be on the second bar of that color either red or green, and not on everyone.

Maybe you just put the arrows to show a trade on close of that bar? Not trying to pick your method, just making sure of the process,

Thanks, John

John you are so correct, that is something I place on the charts after I have placed a trade.. I know that this indicator does not repaint but old habits die hard.. The arrows are purely an indication to me of what I was seeing on the CSS and because it is a system that I am familiar with I know that the arrow indicates to me that was the signal candle and the following candle is the trade candle, but well spotted.

I wanted to wait for a day like today where the market pretty much just went sideways on the London open to see how the trading method faired in such a market before posting. Earlier in the week my targets were hit pretty swiftly in comparison to today's market.

Below is an image of todays trades results.

Before explaining the system take a look at the trade results, notice that out of the 24 pairs traded only 10 pairs ended in positive territory, the other 14 ended in the red. It only took a positive move on two pairs, GBPNZD and GBPCHF to negate all the losing trades and hit my basket profit.

It was actually Steve who gave me the idea when he made an off the collar comment that he may basket trade because he noticed a reversal during the US session.

System.
1] Chart Time Frame: 1H
2] Start time: UK opening (10:00am Bully Bully Pepperstone).
3] Entry: Buy or sell if the UK 07:00 (09:00 Bully Bully Pepperstone) CSS colour is different from the previous 06:00
Trade example:

If it does not meet the requirement just wait for a crossover and take the trade:

4] I risk 1% per trade with a stop loss set at 2 x 20 Day ATR. So if 20 day ATR is 100 then set SL to 200 with 1% risk. I then delete the SL. The reason for this is very simple, I am hedging and if the price goes against me by 200 pips I should have a fair few counter trades taking care of it for the basket closure. I do have the basket trade manager set at 30% because if it makes it that far something went seriously wrong. I had 115 trades open today and DD went to just below 3% for a short period on the GBP rate news.
5} My TP is a mere 1% per day. One basket per day.
6] Once in a trade I trade every 1H candle until the basket is hit. ALWAYS trade in the direction of the CSS, NEVER try to over think where you think the market is going, just concentrate on the process and let the dice fall where they may.

Points to note if you want to give this a go:
a] You will miss a lot of pips because placing a lot of manual trades on the hour takes a few minutes and the candles can move some distance from the open of the new candle. I just live with it.

b] You could on days like today be placing many trades so a low leverage account will not cut it, probably a minimum of 1:400
c] Because it is a hedging system and given the quality of the CSS signals the pairs which are whip sawing are of little consequence because it does not take much of a move with enough trades set in the right direction to close the basket.
Hi Zennor!
This looks interesting.
I will try something similar using my dashboard, MADDY_CSS_HGI_EA, in SHF.
But in my case I will close opposite trades instead of hedge and I will only open one trade of each pair instead of one per hour, when it is crossing SuperCSS H1 and I will also set a basket target.
This will be very interesting.
Thanks for your sharing!

Hi Mathias,

Will be interested to see your results, I tried this manually and found that whipsawing pairs can build up negative equity pretty quickly. You then need a pretty substantial move to regain the losses.

Days like Thursday where I mentioned that the London open moved sideways for a fair while before making a move will I suspect put your account into some serious draw down.

However please do not let this deter your testing as the results from an EA should and could provide better results than my manual attempts.

Likewise thank you for your sharing which makes my paltry efforts disappear into insignificance compared to what you have shared.

Thanks Zennor

Your explanations are really helpful. I will try to emulate your strategy in demo this week. What is the longest it took to hit your target this week starting from 1 hour before London open?

Cheers
