Basket Trading BALUDA'S CSS Crossovers

Post by Shoddy »

Hi!

I am trading this way but also using SuperCSS on H4 to get a higher TF trade direction, got the 1.5% basket profit yesterday. Only been trading a couple of days but it's looking good so far.

Thanks! :good:

 Well done Richard. So you only enter when H4 and H1 agree? Do you enter at the London Open? Every candle or just crosses?

Thanks :)

Thought it was just me. Were you trading every candle from the start or your original cross only?
Keith every candle.. Think I might open another demo to trade only the crossovers and do a contrast and compare but will wait for MathiasJ's dashboard as manually trading this on two accounts is pretty difficult.

You certainly get a feel for the system the more you trade it.

Sideways markets are best suited for crossovers only and where you have a few currencies trending then trading every candle on the London open is best. So now it's just a case of forward testing for now.

Hi,

I start looking after the 07.00 candle closes on H1, I use GlobalPrime, so their markettime in Empty4 is used. Open only crosses on H1 that coincide with the direction on H4, I check all majors and minors that CSS support. Use MPTM for basket closing at 1-1.5% TP.

Looking good so far and the strategy feels logical, trade in the direction of the stronger currencies. Easy, but time will tell if it's good enough in the long run.

Thing is, if a trade is way off I can always close it manually, just have to have a really good reason to close it, personally I look at S/R zones on D1/H4 and broken trend lines, they are often correct. Years of screentime is very hard to code so some manual intervention is sometimes needed... :D

Good luck!

Agree. Maybe using a half-life trend for confirmation? I will test that and report

Thanks Richard

Makes sense. Please report your results. Yesterday we were chopped to pieces and you made it through. MTF is another strong option for filtering

Thanks!

please, do not post always with a lot of nested quotes, there is just one button
use only last quote below the editor, to quote only the last post. I have time ago added this nice function to our board-features, it is easy to use and posts will be much more readable.

We might consider sticking to the big movers.

Attached is a nice overview of them:
When calculating lotsizes based on ADR, we took the volatility out of the equasion.
Every pair contributes the same, high volatile pair with smaller lots than the low volatile pairs.
A better approach in my opinion is to look what pairs move the most during London.
Probably the EU- and US-pairs, the Asian not so much.
LIke Zennor said, we need a large[r] sample to show were the odds are.

Shoddy that is a great idea using the 4H CSS and having just taken a quick look at the charts it would have most certainly kept me out of many trades yesterday.. :hi:

Zennor - I concur. It looks really good. Living in Aus I might start trading from a couple of hours before LO and see how I go.
