EA's inspired by nanningbob's work here, especially those based on his 240 Moving Average trend detection filter.

... And what's interesting is that your monthly total multipair without a grid is almost identical to mine one pair at a time with a grid (myfxbook shows a higher number of pips now because I added a recovery strategy I am also testing but from grid+sixths up until June 28th was about 1200 pips )

I have been trying to figure out the best way to run this on a 1-2k live account and there you have it. Given choice for same risk going multipair one trade per pair has to be safer overall and your drawdown was a bit lower than my 8% too.

So these are helpful results.. for us and hopefully for a few others too.

Good luck going live :good:

Thanks! I'll keep you appraised on how the live account goes. One of the considerations is that AUD traded a lot in the last half of the month, at one point making up five out of eleven trades. If some big event happens and AUD takes off in the opposite direction, there's a 1,400 pip loss (two of the pairs had two trades open each).

I could keep risk (and possibly profit) lower by using the EA feature to only trade a currency twice. I'll give that some thought too. I still haven't looked at the possibility of using a SL more customized to each pair. Lots to chew on, which is what makes it fun! :)

Don't bother. I will do it in time for markets opening over the weekend - it will take me 2 minutes. It needs one boolean, say AllowTradingOutsideTheMiddle (i.e. top and bottom sixths) and a look at the trade signal detecting code.

Read the effing manual, ok?

Nice one and that means if we used two EAs per pair we could have one strategy for trading the middle where we know a hard SL and jump works well, and a different strategy for trading the extremes where perhaps recovery and basket close works better.

My absolutely opportunistic and totally reckless €1000 demo miracously survived another week. But I'm not out of the woods yet...

I take it as a stress test.

Hi Marx64,

Am I reading that right - .10 lots per trade on a 1,000 account? This reminds me of a trading strategy I saw once where the guy risked his entire account on every trade, but was just trying to make 3 pips profit before he lost 100 pips. He expected the account to blow up every so often, but in the meantime, if it just kept growing he would keep siphoning off the profits so that he could never lose more than the original investment. I have to admit, I've always wanted to give it a try...

One lucky streak and you could be rich... then again, with my luck, only the poor house beckons...

Best of luck with your demo! ;)

Lol, I would never try it on live account (actually I have tried, when I was young and stupid  ). But we can still have some fun on demos, right?

So long as you do not put it forward as a possible trade strategy.

Not all SHF members have firing synapses.

Maybe now would be a good time to stop posting about your demo-only strategy?

As I remarked a while ago, you guys keep coming up with the ideas and I will keep coding them.

Let me amend that slightly.

You guys with brains keep coming up with the ideas and I will keep coding them.
