Ok, so here's what I think is happening... The red line that you've highlighted is a plot of the D1 Sto7 value at each 1hr bar. So on hour 1 of the day the indi looks to see what the D1 Sto value is and it plots it, then hour 2 it checks again and plots the new value, then hour 3 etc etc. In your first image, your chart had been open for the whole of the day and so it had managed to capture new D1 Sto7 values for each hour. When you re-loaded the template the red line can only see what the D1 Sto7 value is right now. There is no record of what the D1 value was an hour ago because the D1 candle isn't closed. That is why all previous days are flat lines - they are just the single closed value for the day.

It's that old "wet paint" rather than re-painting problem. You have to realise that when you're using HTF data - everything between HTF closes can change.

About MTF_RSI, I notice it may repaint. Is that correct?

I refer to this post from Bruster and it should be a similar situation with MTF RSI. If you switch the timeframes it refreshes.

Hi Guys,

Just to clear a bit of confusion:

I have not changed my system:
- I trade the 1 hour time frame for what it is worth as per post 1 on this thread.
- I started this strat In January this year and currently on 19500 pips gained. This is ok for manual trading, I think.
- Trades can last from a day to a couple of weeks. Gains can range from 25 pips to 350 pips plus.
- I dont trade willy nilly and use weekly and monthly pivot support/ resistance areas.
- I use Peaky to confirm my trades.
Based on the above I see no reason to change my system.

I created the 4 hr template based on discussions in this thread and for those of you who like to trade off 4hr Hgi signals:
- This could also be beneficial for me because I can possibly look at holding my trades for longer periods at a time.
- You can use this to do top down analysis ie. Daily, H4 and 1Hr hgi must be in agreement before you trade.
- You can take trades just off the 4 hr Hgi signal when your rsi and blue and magenta lines have crossed over.
- You can take trades off peaky and weekly and monthly pivot support/res areas provided the above criteria is met.

The possibilities are endless and I invite all who are using this system to create your own ideas around this and please share your results and method with us.

I am very flexible when it comes to creativity.

Hi all,

It's been politely pointed out to me by OneandOnly666 that the STO7_D1_MA_TREND indicator isn't working properly and it isn't updating as new bars were drawn. I'd tried hard to keep it as "lite" as possible but I'll be the first to admit that not calculating at all is going a bit far!!

Easy enough fix all done in the attached indicator. Just delete your existing ex4, save this over your previous mq4 version and click "Refresh" from the navigator context menu and your template will keep working fine. Leon, could you update the indicator to page 1 too please.

I installed everything, and eyeballing charts it looks pretty straight forward.

What is your typical lotsize vs accountsize?

I fired up a demo to take it for a spin.

Apologies for only getting back to you now. I had no internet access for two days.

I use fixed lot sizes. Attached below is an example of trades taken on Eurusd. 1st trade on 1hr timeframe and second based on 4 hr timeframe.

Hi Stuart,

I started this system at the beginning of Jan this year. This is a cent account so don't laugh at my small profit

and I dont trade more than 10 pairs at a time. As you can see, I mostly concentrate on EurUsd which is my most successful pair. I would probably lose control if I go over 10 pairs, seeing it is manual trading. If you are new to this, it probably would be a good thing to concentrate on EurUsd and perhaps some of the majors, to get a proper feel for it.

Every profit is cash in the bank!
Even as it is a cent-account, it will be the start of something big......
Every million started with $10,- for sure.

It took me a few days to get the hang of it, needed to adjust to the 'wetpainting' indi's I guess.

All in all, I'm happy with the way it goes.
Still it confuses me sometimes, I try to keep track of what pair crosses over and such and wonder if I should just enter after a cross....

It seems nearly an 'always in' kind of system, but it isn't. Not even close.

HGI Matrix has been a huge help in detecting pairs to trade, now I'm trying to wrap my head around TDesk and all it's possibilities.
