CJ - John Saffron - passed away

John AKA Captain Jack was a mentor of mine for many years, easily in my top three alongside Steve Hopwood and Nanningbob.. He was instrumental in helping me move away from indicators and starting to look at price with the view of 'what's happening behind it'. He had the best analogies such as 'trapping the fox'. John always had the time for myself and for many of us. He gave of his time selflessly. I remember reading and re-reading his famous PDF on a trip to the snow, completely engrossed in his writing style and understanding of the markets.

Here's hoping that there's something else out there and he can finally see the true reality of the fox behind the charts. This absolutely sucks

We will miss you tremendously John. Thanks for everything you gave us and for opening our eyes in a way that not many others were able to.

CJ is going to be missed by most of us as I tried to fill in his huge boots but failed miserably :hi: :hi:

Nothing from me more than that which Jem has said above except a fond memory (I am a fisherman) he couldn't accept a load of sardines because of his gout. He was an example of generosity to others that we all should follow and never forget. I never thought until now how many he was a mentor to and the time he devoted even amongst his personal stress in recent years.

WOW very sad news, he did open peoples eyes to the way the FOX moves. he will be missed, giving others his free and valuable time.

Besides this forum, it was mainly his insights and ideas that helped me to see the whole business with different eyes and to take three steps forward. His way of trading and explaining things was clearly THE turning point for me. Not exactly his method (that would be impossible, at least for me) but still many elements of it, mostly his attitude and the way he looked at the markets.

He was one of the few traders and mentors I immediately believed that he actually was capable of what he pretended to do. This was an incredible incentive for me because I knew what was possible.

I hope that one day I can give back to this community some of what I have learned and "taken" from it.

I've literally just found out right now.

I was logging in to his FF profile to check his quote, and saw RIP messages.... totally gutted..

I believe it was the loss of his dear wife that broke his heart.

CJ aka John poured himself out. His methods, attitude and insight have and will continue to change the lives of many.

Rest well John
