Which Of Sir Hopwoods EA's have Showed You promise$

I've played with them a bit in the past. From what I've seen you have two choices, using Empty4's built-in publisher feature to send ftp updates to them or using an EA they provide. Apparently you get more functionality with the later.

I believe both methods rely on what you have in your history view in the terminal.

I suspect someone using one of the widgets already can explain how they are using it and share any tips.

Nice one again George. Now I visit the pages you link, I remember finding them by accident. I never found them again. The last time I set up an myfxbook account, I recall getting it up and running more by luck than judgement.

It doesn't have all the same options for metrics tracking but it is REALLY simple to use. Simply create an account (uses your Empty4 account number), download the tracking EA, throw it on any chart, enter the FXJunction user and password (not the Empty4 information).

Just thought we might want an easy alternative.

Hello Sir Hopwood All,
the corrected link is posted in the initial one, as well as here. It seems, simply copying and pasting here drops out an important part of the link. This was corrected by copying the URL from the working page then when we pasted here, we also made that a URL using the URL designating tool above (from the full editor). That caused the link to aintian all its directions back to the inted den information.

I have spent My Saturday experimenting and have gotten some measure of sucess in displaying the MyFX book.

-Set up the MyFXbook account
-Go under settings
-Add an account
-Select your platform {Alpari Uk}
-Choose the matching Broker's server as indicated on your actual Empty4, under the tools option Server (real or demo)
-Enter appropriate Investor password, if not supplied simple go to the Empty4 Tools->Options->Sever ---> Change, enter main Password then click on change investor, set the investor P/W of you choice (make sure your are nt changing the main P/W) then Click yo chakge, if sucessful you will hear a Baloon Pop (sound from MT$, if pC sound is enabled). If not need to ensure that you are in fact using the main P/W in the right place. Also ensure that it is the investor P/W that you put in the myFX Book (to ensure only you have full acces to Empty4 account), after recording for future reference of course.

- Slect the appropriate buttons to share the data from the account, make private or public
-That done, save the added account to MyFxBook,
-Go to your profile, click that down then acount number generated by the MyFxbook, to correspond with your actual Empty4 account, sort of their version of your account number. This will be entered in the Empty4 profile set up

-NB it is a two part process (1) Set up the account in the My Fxbook (2) go to the Empty4

Tools->Options->Publisher -> proceed as directed in the link :

#Account Number is your actual Empty4 nuber displayed at the top left
#FTP Server is : ftp.myfxbook.com:21
#FTP path : left unchanged
#FTP Login is the account number that myfxbook has associated with out Empty4 account when you had previously gone through the process there of setting up or adding a new account etc.
#FTP Password, is the Password that ypu use to log into the MyFXbook account
#Ensure "Enable" and "Passive" are ticked. Click Test
#OK
#Look in the Journal tab and if all went well you should end with Publisher Starting & Publisher O.K.
# if that s acheived it means your Empty4 is linked to your MFXbook, and there should be an update after a while. Click on the word portfolio and the list of accounts you have set up 9seeminly un limited) will show.
#If the Empty4 connection was ok and you have wated 15 minutes or so and no active, chances are the Investor password or the appropriate server was not entered in the MyFxBook. Simply go to Settings near the to right of the myfxboo account , edit the appropriate account you are attempting to st up.

Thanks for reading. I uderstand it can be a challenge, but just hollar here if is a need to get further help with this. OR somone more gifted with short explanations may have gleaned my meaning and be in a better position to sumarise.

All in all, it would be a beauty to have all the Automations by Sir Hopwood displayed so we can get a rat time picture of ther performance. We can also see which have legs. In fact if each use posted one of their favourite systems we should have enough Testing power (only about 0.5 Megs of free Ram needed per Empty4 instance) to provide Sir Hopwood and the team witht he adequate Forward test data needed.

Glad my stats aren't for my real account!! That would be disaster!

I was thinking about opening multiple FXJunction accounts to track multiple Empty4 accounts. Might need multiple emails to register under though.

All the FF drama aside, I have been looking at their tracker too. Seems there are recent updates to it and that it is very capable with lots of stats and metrics and gizmos.

After reading about 5% of Steve's threads (have you seen how much stuff this guy writes???), which only took a month or so, and figured I'd be forced into retirement if I waited 'til I read them all before starting to trade.

I started with $5k demo account, 500:1 leverage, with a lot size of 1,000 units, (I don't bother with the terms "Nano" or "Micro" etc, because different criminals use the same term to mean different sizes to keep ppl confuzzled), with a minimum of 0.01 lots per trade.

I threw around a dozen of Steve's EA's at it, some from the BOJ thread, some from the Swing thread, and some from the Schlossberg thread, and a couple from AshFX2. Within 3 days, my balance was close to $7k, and wasn't I a happy chappy;)

The next week, I'd get home from working afternoon shift, to find 3 trades down by around $1.5k each:( There was no way I was going to close them at that level, so I just let them be... The next morning, they were back into profit, but, being the silly bugger that I am, I thought I'd let them carry on and let the EA's take the profit... Definitely the wrong move, as they eventually dropped far enough to be stopped out:(

I now have a demo account with a balance of $120.60... Let's see if I can fix this...

I checked to see which EA was most profitable, by looking at highest average profit, and Scoob's Multi-RSI Multi-Lot came out on top. It also had the highest minimum profit, as well as having the most trades, so it won hands down.

Too bad it was also the EA that took my balance down:(

The main problem, aside from my stupid decision to let it ride, was the dreaded "Error 130: Invalid stops", so decided to have a look into that, and found that the modify order routine had a slight error...

OrderOpenPrice() is asking "How much did I pay for that?"

OrderTakeProfit() is asking "How much do I want to take?"

The problem is, we were trying to tell it what we want to take, so the server was saying, "Stuffed if I know what you want! Here, take this and sod off!"

I replaced OrderTakeProfit() with 0 and now there's no more error130's, and I finally have a stoploss in place.

We'll see if this baby gets my balance up to $150 by the end of next week, eh? Yeah!
