As a quick update

Sadly, Blackbull and Blueberry no longer take Canadian clients

Equiti is a new broker that takes Canadians and I assume US clients.

This is huge news. Do you have a link to documentation or a press release confirming this new change?

Just try registering for an account, even a demo account, and you find out right away.

It is the same here in Canada... however, we still have a few more offshore brokers willing to take us on... that is until they eventually have to shut us out... I have been a client of 5 brokers that have closed my accounts... the Canadian brokers are similar to yours... not good... it's BS. I may have to move!

So I just got done communicating with the support agents from both brokers.

Blueberry informed me they are still accepting new Canadian clients and referred me to this documentation page.

Blackbull said that they are not accepting new Canadian clients as of over a year ago. They were unable to link me to any public statement or documentation announcing this change, but stated their reasoning was "due to local regulations that apply in the financial industry which prohibit us from offering CFDs to Canadian residents." However, EXISTING Canadian clients who were onboarded before this change can still trade with them.

Either way, thanks for making me double-check the information by speaking to the broker representatives. I'll have to make this change later today in Post #1 of this thread.

I notice some of the Aussie brokers have set up subsidiaries offshore in places like Vanuatu, Seychelles, Mauritius etc. I am wondering if that is how they are bringing on Canadian clients for example. I will now relook at Blueberry (they had refused me in the past).

I already checked them out. They will take Canadians but not Americans. I have yet to vet them thoroughly and see if they are worthy of being added to the 3rd list of Post #1.

It looks like I have to cross off the broker LMFX from the first list of post #1.

Myself and two other traders just had a conversation with a chat support agent, and it turns out this decision was made a few days ago. No announcement via their website or email, no press release, nothing. Just a decision and then everyone else has to find out about it by accident.

Sad to see how quickly available options for North American traders just keep slipping away.
