Thanks!
For me it's quite hard to comment such material officially. I cannot resist the feeling, that this "other platform" in comparison is THE platform... if you know what I meanatharmian » Sat Jan 11, 2014 11:26 pm wrote:Martin,I just went through this CTrader video intro (posted by Ramy3, Reply #12):

1. Do you have a point by point comparison?
I believe Sergey respond to this sufficiently.2. cTrader now seems to be on IC Markets and Bully Bully Pepperstone (though I haven't tested anywhere.) How about your deployment?
You can just upload/import your MQL4 code into PT3. No need to translate.3. cTrader claims to be able to translate all Empty4 scripts, EAs and indis for their platform. How about you?
What do you mean by " But if you trade on a regulated exchange"8) Market depth: http://protrader.com/en/article/read/mdquickbuttons/29
Level 2 prices: http://protrader.com/en/article/read/pr ... toring/131
But I would be very cautious about using it as "short term indicator of price direction" as stated in video. Data in MD/lvl2 depends on brokers feed and most probably do not contain enough of information because of OTC market nature and popularity of dark pools. But if you trade on a regulated exchange then these are great tools.
Ah ok. That's main problem with Forex.skoda2008 » 23 minutes ago wrote:He means anything that trades through an exchange rather than Over The Counter. ie. It is useful for stocks where everyone can see the orders from all brokers, not so much for forex where you can only see the orders of your broker.
Don't forget ProTrader can handle all sorts of markets, not just forex.
you talk about Market Depth, but what about Level 2 information ?skoda2008 » 7 minutes ago wrote:I used to use Market Depth extensively when trading stocks, but I just don't think it's possible on FX. I read something earlier today claiming that even Reuters only accounts for 3% of the daily FX transactions. So even if you took a company as big as that as representative of the market it doesn't really mean much. If you want to try and get a better representation by combining the information from several sources you'll have to find sources willing to release that information, and aside from a few retail brokers I'm not aware of any.
