GBP news trades always go into losses from experience. AUD and EUR at least will break even before moving against and very less slippage.

If we stick to EU,EY,GU,GY for London & US (minus the news time), I think we should make a decent returns weekly. Unfortunately today been bad with losses but still up for the week because Monday trades were good.

Still another 3 trading days to go. Anything goes :cheer:

Hi dsugums,

A suggestion...maybe you can check out how long it takes for a trade typically to hit tp.
Probably good to have a filter:
1. If trade time > 55 minutes (example)
2. Trade profit > 1 pip
Close the trade.

Might be nice to close off trades which are dragging out too long.

Cheers
Well, might be a good idea to test it out. I see most of the time, if the pa turns back immediately after opening, that trade is likely toasted anyway.

I have changed my tp/sl to 12/6 pips to get better ratio. Its working fine with EU,GU,EY,GY,AU,AY at the moment on Axi (I hate it when there is slippage of 0.2-0.9pips even with pending orders :arrrg: ).

The BE stops are saving grace for AU short trade during Asia today.

I am looking at currency strength if that might help into getting a trade and also 4H stoch (which is quite significant).

For now, I am quite happy with 2:1 ratio for the trades. I can still recover the losses with this ratio.

Hi,

dont think London today was good.
We probably need a news filter on this, especially on GBP news.
Oddly the calendar on myfxbook registered today's event as medium impact, while FF cal registered it as high impact.

Cheers

During the period before the Dawn of Time at FF, Scoobs and I explored adding TTCal to our ea's. It was easily done, although I do not remember how - wouldn't be hard to re-create the code, I suppose.

The problem is that FF's news calender is notoriously unreliable - better than nothing but not something to bet your house on. That is why I never bother with a news function in my ea's.

Read the effing manual, ok?

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

EY went to losses at London open, but the second trade was ok (+3%)

GY I did not take the short because the strength of GBP and JPY almost equal which made it risky to trade. The 2nd hour trade I did not take because of the news. Almost all the time it reverses so learnt it the hard way not to trade it.

Will wait for US open to see if can get AUD trades.

Hi Dsu, may I seek your help to find out why the EA did not take a short pending order on the .20 level?

I'm curious as to why even a pending order did not trigger...

Hi Steve,

I'm running version n of the EA on one demo platform.... I have 4 pairs that trade for the first two hours of London and 4 that trade the first two hours of the US session.....I noticed last night at the start of the US session that one of my UK session EA also kicked off a trade.....I had close look at the UK session chart and EA and time was set correctly, however although it was now outside of the 2 hour trade window and the EA was not indicating "OUTSIDE TRADING HOURS"... I then hit F7 to go in to the properties of the EA and then hit OK to refresh the EA and it then showed the "OUTSIDE TRADING HOURS" message....

I'm not sure others have seen this.....

Also, just a bit more about my set-up....Although i trade the same pairs in the UK and US session, i run then on different charts with all the UK sessions EA's using magic 444 and US session running magic 111... If my us of the magic numbers in this manner is possible responsible for this behavior, please let me know...!

I do this so i can report using iProfittracker indicator by magic number as to which session is performing the best...!

Regards

Wiggy, in my dumb view and to avoid issues, it is generally wise to use a different magic number for each instance of the EA. Good luck :youknow:

Thx Nonlinear...

I normally do, but given this EA appears to only be managing the currency pair of that chart that the EA is attached to, i didn't see this as a problem....Steve may give me a spray anyway, that's what he does....

Steve could actually be my wife in drag...!
